Just had my local Discount Tire install a set of 19"x 8.5" ET30 Beyern Spartans in Silver shod with 245/40-19 Nitto Motivos. Previously had Plastidipped 397's as a trial but felt the black-on-black was too over the top for me.

The Beyerns are BMW-specific wheels made by TSW and the Spartans are part of their Rotary Forged line of wheels. Previously had TSW Nurburgring's on my GLI and was pleased.

I went with the All Season Nitto Motivos because this is my daily driver and family hauler so I wanted something that is not going to wear out in 10k miles. I went square because I intend to rotate the tires every 5k miles.

Officially, the 245/40's are not an approved fitment, but in going from 18 to 19, I wanted to fill up the wheel well a little bit more. I have no plans on lowering the car so I should be OK. So far so good with no rubbing in the front.

Please pardon the crappy iPhone pics...

That looks really good. I have a BSM too and I was going to Plasti dip my 397's as well. But after seeing several BMW's with black wheels at the BMW rally here on LI last week. I decided for me that the black wheels on a black car just get lost. However they do look outstanding on white. Your car looks great. Good Job.

Can you take some pics from the back and post. How do the rear tires look from the back. Do they still look fairly wide even though on a 19x8.5 wheel?

Also, cant tell from the angle but looks like you could have actually pushed them out further, potentially a 25 offset, which would make them flush?

Just asking because I want to go squared as well. So maybe 19x9 et30 or 19x8.5 et25.

Thanks and car looks great. I was never a fan of Beyern but changed my mind, as these look great on your car.

I will take some better pictures, but can assure you, they are definitely flush with the wheelwell. When looking straight down from the fender I can actually see the little whiskers from the tires and a little bit of sidewall poking out. With a square setup, I don't think you could go with an 8.5" wheel with a lower offset and still be considered "flush." Maybe a 19x9 with a higher offset would tuck in the front, but you might have to go with a narrower tire to avoid rubbing. Again, I may be wrong, but this fitment was a little bit of an experiment (at least when it came to the tire size) and you may be able to squeeze some more tire/wheel in the wheel wells.

Thanks for the compliment. I was also not a huge fan of Beyern's before. Aside from the Spartan and the Henne (3pc Forged), the only other model I was remotely looking at was the Bavaria. If they had a decent non-staggered fitment, I would've probable gone with the TSW Nurburgring again as I am a fan of the multi-spoke laced look for Bimmers. They are a little bit shinier than I was expecting and from certain angles, they look polished, but are in fact painted. If I were in charge, I'd add a machined face finish to the lineup.

Looks good. Black wheels never look good compared to a good silver wheel

As promised, here are some additional shots showing the "flush factor."
Here is the downshot from the front fender:

Thanks pal, yes that looks great and you were right, thats pretty flush. I have the M5 replicas and while I really like their look, I am sort of over the staggered look at least where it is definitively different. As long as I can get pretty aggressive with fronts and rears, preferably 19x9 and at least a 245/40, then thats where I am heading.

The staggered on this car has too much push in the front, understeer and I really want that hard carving turn in which will help to have a squared setup. I have a B8 Quattro as well and granted its allwheel drive but same size all around really carves up the turns well. Thanks again for posting.

Just an update after my first couple of weeks with this 245/40-19 setup. I have actually experienced some rubbing in certain circumstances. I think the rubbing is coming from the tire contacting the upper inner fender wheel, but have yet to confirm. It's only happened 3 times total. Two of them have come at the same point on the same road on a couple trips into work. It's at a point in the road where there is a slight dip and also a crack in the pavement. I think the amount of g force being loaded on the suspension coupled with the road imperfection is causing the rub. The other scenario came from going over a speed hump too fast. I need to take a good look and see what, if any, damage is occurring and then assess if it's something I can live with. I ran my hand along the fender lip and there was no apparent damage and the tires look perfectly fine. Just an FYI to anyone thinking of using this setup.

Hey pal, let me know what you find. I wonder if they might be either a hair too tall or the offset with that taller tire is barely touching the inner well at the top side, either on the front or backside of the tire.

I am looking at a set of BMW Style 351s, which is the M5 style from a 5 series and they are 19x8.5 et33 all around. Since you are having this slight rubbing issue on rare occasions, I think I might go with a 255/35. Since my offset would be less aggressive than yours by 3mm, I get a tiny bit wider tire but slightly lower profile.

Thanks so much again for posting your experiences. This is what really helps everyone when people are trying various wheel and tire applications.

My favorite Beyerns so far. I have been considering them for my car, but I need to see more pictures in silver. Thanks for the post.

I definitely think the instances of rubbing I experienced are due to me running the 245/40 vs. the recommended 245/35. So far I have yet to encounter any other rubbing except for this one particular section of road during my commute to work. This weekend I plan on giving her a nice bath and will take one of the front wheels off and see what damage is occurring, if any to the fender liner.

Although not on a Silver car, I will be washing my car this weekend and will take some better pictures with my DSLR.

Here's a couple more taken with my phone. It's been 110+ degrees in PHX lately so I haven't had a chance to clean the car up and take proper photos.

nice wheels man! best looking i have seen from Beyern. I am just slightly more partial to the split 7 spoke design of TSW Nurburgring but they dont make them direct fir for the bmws

Looks good!! Question, i'm trying to convert my set up to square but wheels only with diff tire size. I was thinking 19 x 8.5 et 35 all around and F-225/40 and R- 255/35 - basically the oem tire size... Trying to achieve a flush look or slightly inner. thoughts? I have an msport lowered in hr sport springs. Thanks.

looks great man. Looks to be a great compromise for those who do not wish to lower.
I bet the 40 profile also keeps the ride fairly comfortable.
