New Forum Member - Jerez e92 comp

Salut tout le monde !

Ce n'est pas nouveau sur la scène automobile SoCal, mais c'est ma première plongée dans le monde de M. J'ai acheté une E92 Comp 6MT 2011 en novembre dernier et j'en ai adoré chaque minute. Voiture à deux propriétaires avec 48k sur l'horloge, pas d'accidents, tous les dossiers de service. J'ai fait remplacer les TA avant la livraison et je me prépare à remplacer les roulements de tige par des remplacements améliorés BE.

J'ai finalement commencé à sauter sur les forums pour en savoir plus sur la plate-forme. Je cherche à effectuer des mods de suspension / manipulation pour vraiment tirer le meilleur parti de la maniabilité dans les descentes et sur les rallyes, mais je n'ai pas beaucoup prévu en termes d'additionneurs de puissance (c'est une voiture si amusante à conduire, je ne veux pas ruiner sa longévité).

J'ai hâte d'apprendre tout ce que je peux sur la plate-forme e9x! J'ai ajouté quelques photos ci-dessous de divers événements, etc.

C'est un mod étonnamment efficace.

welcome to the family, Great choice on color and 6mt!! you will definitely fine tune your M to your liking. I highly recommend upgrading your subframe bushing...will remove wheel hops when you are cruising or even going fast on highways and roads. Take your time with mods...and enjoy your M. We are basically brothers with same spec...I put over 100,000 miles on my M ....just have to keep up with maintenance and proper warmup!!! Happy Motoring...your JEREZ M looks very clean!!!

Thanks! I have noticed the car wants to understeer a little bit and I want to add a little camber to the front. I was going to wait until I installed my KW Clubsports. Did you see much handling improvement while keeping the OEM staggered wheel/tire combo?

Thank you! It took me eight months to find justttt the right one! I was lucky that a friend was in need of a larger vehicle and was forced to sell. He only owned it for two months and the previous owner put approx 4,500 miles per year when at their vacation home in San Diego.

I've heard replacing subframe bushings helps a lot with wheel hop. Would you recommend going with poly? Or would you go with the Turner solid mounts? I've heard pros and cons for both... It's my daily currently, but will become more of a fun weekend/canyon car over the next year or so.

Better tires like ps4s at 28psi can help with traction and therefore reduce wheel hop. I have found this to be extremely effective on my non-modded stock powered DCT. The car launches hard every time with no wheel spin and therefore no wheel hop (dragy 0-60mph in 4 flat).

There was probably less push, but it's not like it made the car loose.

With pins in, my brand new PS4s wouldn't have lasted a 4th track day.

So I pulled the pins, put on a new set of PS4s and I got noticeably more tire life after 3 track days.
I added camber plates got another track day in on the same tires and am about to add another track day at the end of the month.

I also did solid rear subframe bushings as well, and that was a legit DIY.
The very high effort level was well worth it though.
It cured the lateral twitching at the rear of the car that I was experiencing in high speed sweepers.

Thank you! General consensus seems to be to go with solid rear subframe mounts. So they are high on my list now!

The rear end movement is definitely noticeable on faster corners and chicanes. I’ll probably have one of my local shop connections do the work for me (currently in an apartment with and underground garage spot), but I do want to start wrenching on the car myself once I’m situated with a house and room to work on it.

Depuis que cette voiture a vu beaucoup de piste, j'ai échangé des montures moteur / trans avec Bimmerworld Group N et RevShift 80A. Si je devais le faire à nouveau, je remplacerais les trans par des produits frais. L'ajout de NVH était plus que je voulais, mais je ne voulais pas m'occuper de les échanger à nouveau.

Félicitations ! J'ai acheté un Jet Black E92 M3 ZCP plus tôt cette année. Basé à San Diego et à la recherche de plus de disques en OC et SD.
