I'm a little embarrassed by this but I had a slight fender bender on the LIE the other night.. driver short stopped me and I did my best to save the car. A few minutes later a white E93 M3 with an exhaust drove by, anybody here?
Damaged the driver side headlight, bumper, fender along with lower control arm and level control arm.
Been driving 7 years in NYC and my first accident had to be in the M3..
At least I'm okay and that it wasn't a full on front end collision..

Adjuster already seen the car and the car is at my mechanic awaiting parts. While it's in the paintbooth, I'll probably get the grilles color matched. I ordered unpainted sidemarkers so those will be painted as well.
Anything else I should do?
I have a buddy who's selling an unpainted DD CSL trunk for the E93 for a super good deal. Should I pull the trigger if the trunk checks out? I'd have to get the trunk painted of course.

Sorry to see this happen to you! I drive on the LIE all the time and always there are at least one or two A-holes that cut you off or swerve into you. You will be happy once shes all fixed up. I have actually encountered that same e93 M3 with exhaust once by the van wyck, had a little revving contest, but of course no cats or resonators wins
R4TEDM wroteNo cats and resonators will definitely win that contest without a doubt.Sorry to see this happen to you! My mechanic sent me this the other day.. looks like she's all fixed up mechanically. Just had to replace the LCA and the level control arm.. she aligned up straight without a problem. Now just waiting on the new headlight to be installed along with the bumper/fender/grille/reflectors to be painted.
Ouch sorry to see that happen to you. At least it wasn't too bad so hopefully you'll be back in no time. I have a white e93 and drive on the lie quite often but don't recall seeing another M3 in an accident..be careful out there!
Awesome glad there wasn't any major damage, once she's done up and spring comes around got to take her to a few Queens/Brooklyn and Long Island local car shows/meets.
How do you manage cleaning your car man? do you have garage?
R4TEDM wroteSounds good! Let me know which ones you plan on attending when the time comes.Awesome glad there wasn't any major damage, once she's done up and spring comes around got to take her to a few Queens/Brooklyn and Long Island local car shows/meets.

Bimmer-M3 wroteI picked up the car because I'm moving out of Manhattan back up to the Bronx. She was street parked for a little bit before the accident. By the time I pick her up from the mechanic, I should be moving in to the new place. I'll have a driveway to park/wash the car and my parents live 5-10 min away, they have a garage with my tools if I ever need to work on the car.How do you manage cleaning your car man? do you have garage?
I like the plate btw.. I'd like to come up with one to put on the car this year.
ArthurL wroteyou might have seen him around NY,R4TEDM your plate looks familiar.. I feel like I've seen it somewhere. Are you on any of the BMW FB groups?

Met him on Saturday evening…….cool guy
His silvers one vert is really nice!
Arthur when the weather gets warm again I will send you a PM and try to meet up.
ArthurL wroteI was planning to buy Jerez black but I am worried about cleaning the car every other day. I don't have an inside parking so most of the time it will be parked outside. I don't think black will be manageable. You can tell us more about it from your experience. Is your jet black or Jerez?I picked up the car because I'm moving out of Manhattan back up to the Bronx. Bimmer-M3 wroteMine is Jet Black. Any black car will be hard to keep clean and it's easy to spot swirls in the paint, but once you get her cleaned up.. she's super sexy. I had a Jet Black E90 335 and I always looked forward to washing her. If you want an easy to maintain color, I'd go for a silver/grey color.I was planning to buy Jerez black but I am worried about cleaning the car every other day. sorry to see the car like that. it might've been me in the white e93 that passed by (if it was dropped and had wheels too). but i dont recall seeing an m3 on the side.
ArthurL wroteThank you! There is another plate around that goes by RATEDM i am not sure what car is it on but almost certainly on an ///M car, I am not on any of the FB stuff maybe a few people posted my car on IG, but thats about it. Well one thing for sure when picking a plate is that you have to pick something that will allow people without a clue (rest of society) to understand the plate otherwise you will get wierd looks and cofused faces. Even R4TEDM confuses people sometimes. Check out the "Dat Booty" thread i saw you posted there as well i just posted a few pics of my car mayne you recognize it?R4TEDM your plate looks familiar.. Has anyone ever used a guy named LEEBERBS for their tints? He's out in NJ. If so.. how was your experience?
My buddy and I may head on one of these weekends to get our cars tinted.

Make sure they are aware of dot matrix issue
Flying Ace wroteThat how I view it too and people on M3post make it seem after 50k the car will just die. These cars are built to last if properly maintained folks. I plan to keep my car till it reaches 150K.as long as the car was properly maintained, and the oil samples comes back clean, then having a car with 121k on the clock should be no issues...
nice pickup!, glad to see it getting fixed up quick,
anything i can help you out with feel free to ask!

Thanks Alex and Sam.
Alex, I'll message you sometime this year about replacing my rod bearings. The car drives fine, I'm waiting on a Blackstone Analysis to give me a better idea of how the engine is.

Nice choice! Sad to see the damage but she looks to be in good hands. Looking forward to future mods.
I'll always be an M guy at heart
