For that price its definitely a decent build. You should have no problems running 60+ FPS on ultra settings. I saw MSI was having a sale on there godlike mobo's for a little bit more. The Samsung 950 pro ssd's are on sale now since the 960's came out as well. My 950 pro is night and day diff from the 850 evo.

Just upgraded to an i5-6600K with 1070. Works fine but VR needs more.....

I'm trying to figure out if I should upgrade next my monitor or video card. I know I need both but I'm trying to figure out what would yield more returns by itself.

Asus Maximus VI Hero motherboard
16gb Corsair
multiple SSD
GTX 770
HP w2558 monitor (25.3" 1920x1200 @ 3MS w/ up to 85hz)

So my thoughts are either upgrading to a 1070 card or grabbing either an Acer Predator XB271HU 27" monitor (27" 2560x1440 @ 4ms w/ 144hz) or the Asus equivalent. Which do you guys think would make more of an immediate difference?

Do both but get it with the 1080. The Predator is bad ass. I have it paired with my 1080 it blows everything I throw at it out of the water. You won't regret the investment

Yeah unfortunately we are trying to have a baby right now so I gotta choose one or the other. I think Ill probably go with the Monitor and wait to see the next gen cards and the new AMD stuff. I keep monitors a long time so the high price bothers me less. This HP is over 9 years old and still works perfect.

Built this about a year ago, no issues and loving it. I was tired of large case builds so tried a x99 cube this time around!

I just read a bunch of reviews, and observed that most similar builds on pcpartpicker were using the z170 krait, so I went with that. I've also never had an SSD, so I'm sure the 850 will be a step up from traditional HDs.

Also just ordered an Asus ROG PG278Q monitor (2560x1440, 144Hz, 1ms). G-Sync sounds like a dream (bar the price premium - wtf?), so I'm looking forward to trying that out.

I am in love with this monitor. As someone who has never experienced 144hz or played a game at 1440p, this is insane. In fact, the refresh rate was making me a bit woozy at first. I've only logged about an hour of gaming on it so far, but it blew me away. Played Overwatch w/ maxed settings, 144hz and hit (see below).

Edit: Uninstalled Nvidia GeForce Experience program - now getting 120-150 FPS.

Awesome. I think I am going to end up grabbing the Acer Predator XB271HU. Same specs as that Asus but Costco currently has it on sale for $599 (normally $750) plus I get that Costco warranty free. Super surprised to see it there yesterday. Just couldn't buy it in front of the wife hahaha.

Not the same but I picked up a Logitech G810 keyboard last year and I love it.

Gtx 1080 ti announced for March 10 release. I'll stick to my 1080 for now I just got it in January lol
