Hi all. I am looking to have some video for vacations, weddings, GoPro etc. edited and put together as I don't have any experience and would like it to look professional. I searched online and came across a few sites like fiverr.com and upwork.com where you can hire video editors for projects, but the reviews for them are super varied. The reviews range from 'this is a great service' to 'total scam don't bother'. Anyone have experience regarding this? Thanks!
In some instances, hiring a professional editor can be a wise choice. However, if you're interested in learning how to edit and created your own videos, it's not too difficult. Recently I have been taking my own videos and creating clips out of them myself. It's time consuming, but very rewarding. I use Window's movie maker which is free and powerful enough to get you started.
What end product are you looking for? All your movies in an easy to access DVD? Or a single movie that strings the best moments from a lot of different videos together?

My one bit of advice is this: always keep a copy of your master movies. Don't edit them together then throw your old video files away.
You can watch some youtube videos where they review this types of hiring websites, there are some even for video/photo editing, what I gathered from it watching them in the past was that top $ does not always eaqual top quality

Here is an example:
You could try for yourself. I use CapCut on my phone and it’s free. Great editing app with a lot of potential. I use it to edit my videos, time consuming but the end result is rewarding making you feel satisfied. This is the one I recently done for my maintenance wash video
