Hey, you don't have to put a cause into your computer for a background check? Just curious because a LEO friend did one years ago to check to see if I had any "caution indicators" on my DL and he said he needed to put in a cause and if I had a preference. I think we used no front plate.

Well, it depends. Running a background check is different than running a DMV search. I drive down the street all day running every plate on every car that “grabs my attention”. Let me provide a few examples:

1. Running a plate (..no reason needed).

2. Checking a CCHRS [Consolidated Criminal History Reords Search] (..reason needed).

3. Checking CalPhoto DMV (..reason needed).

4. Checking FLOCK cameras for a plate to locate the last known position of a vehicle (..reason needed).

5. Checking Palantir provides me every location you’ve ever been detained on a traffic stop, what you were cited for, who was with you (..if they were identified), all associated addresses for you and the people identified with you, where you were arrested, etc.; imagine Google Maps with all of your police contact locations pinned (..reason needed).


Palantir is…..the digital flow chart of your police contacts and provides nexuses for potentially related crimes. CCHRS provides me your entire criminal history. CalPhoto provides me the digital version of your exact driver’s license, photo and all. FLOCK tells me the last intersection your vehicle traversed. The license plate function just provides registered owner and specific vehicle details.

I figured some of you might get a kick out of this call narrative. This incident occurred at a nightclub/bar…

I'm no gun expert or internet genius. But i do have a good sense of humor. I seen the video online of the Pasadena officer negligently shooting their own officer in the shoulder. LMFAO I laughed so much. Boys gonna be boys!! Not hating, thankfully a shoulder is likely recoverable. I can imagine the pure frustration I would feel if my brother or best friend accidentally shot me as a result of us fooling around.

The way the cop raised his gun when his friend pulled up on scene was hysterical!!! If this isn't actually a laughing matter I'm sorry but I haven't stopped laughing

Pasadena, Irvine, RSO and a few others create some funny stuff for their social media accounts.

I don't know if anyone saw the shooting incident last Saturday afternoon at the Toledo festival. That TV show is riding with the Toledo PD, and showed an "all-hands" incident at that same festival on Friday evening where the sheriff's deputies providing event security called for backup because there was a fight in the crowd and things were getting out of hand.

Among the upstanding citizens that were displaced when the police shut the event down was a guy dressed as a clown who flipped off the police and told them what he thought of law enforcement in some not-clown-like words, and a crowd of probably under 21 teens who were yelling things like "duck TPD" and "get out of *our* neighborhood, because things were fine before you got here."

I haven't finished watching Saturday's post-shooting episode yet, but they are showing the police searches and investigations from a few hours after the shooting because it happened just before they were going on the air for Saturday's show.....

First speeding ticket in this car and the cop was nice, but i did not leave without a handful of tickets. I had just flashed BM3 Stage 1 ten minutes prior to the incident. I just wanted to make sure the speed limiter was off. I didn't have my radar plugged in or my license in the car. Due in court on my birthday but happy to not have been arrested. Yeah the speed limiter was off fs.

Geez you poor thing. I mean it is super justified wanting to verify that you no longer are limited to 130 mph (or 155mph perhaps) after spending that money on a tune, and it's outrageous to think that you'd need to have a driver's license on you for such a quick little violation of the law. Bit odd that you chose not to plug in a radar detector you had readily available to you prior to this decision, but hopefully you managed to select a safe area to perform the test in like a school zone or at least within city limits, am I right?

I hardly have any police in the area by my home. However with US Open in town there is unprecedented amount of police in the surrounding areas. I estimate from personally seeing the event three to five hundred officers from NYST, SCPD, SHPD, and more unmarked vehicles than you would ever imagine all in the area, on the roadways. I got pulled over by an unmarked NYST Durango. I thought where I live was far enough out of the patrol zone. Then again its a major roadway into the surrounding towns. I've had a great year, great year of growth and although in the next few weeks i'll feel like a dummy i'll be alright..RIGHT!? lol

We all live and learn. I grew up in the thick of the street racing craze, so I have had more than my fair share of speed related citations. It’s all good.

Nobody is going to use the word "wise" when describing me lol. There are so many more descriptive terms that would spring to their mind, and very few of them positive in all likelihood.

As much as court might hurt, you will someday look back on this and laugh when sharing the story with someone though.
