So if I run on the deck of the cruise ship while we steam from San Diego to Vallarta, will I get extra credit from Runkeeper for distance covered? I imagine the tracking will look something like a storm track across the ocean, with circles moving south
I've seen people's tracks that did that on cruise ships, it does track the total distance including the movement of the ship. I'll try running during our cruise over the holidays to Antarctica, it should be interesting. Maybe during the Drake passage.

First snowy run for us today, 6.64 with the dogs. They love it.
Short run, approx 2 miles. 150HR. Felt good. I have been traveling and not getting my runs in. Need to get back to it! :)
Another short 2 mile run. 150HR. Pretty warm at 9:00am in south Florida! :)
2 miles run, 156HR. Nice and breezy and upper 60s in south Florida.

ps bimmerpost is unstable lately isnt it?
Santa 2 Sea is Sunday. I hurt my back by tying my shoes the Saturday before Thanksgiving, don’t think I can run yet
I’m still going to get some presents for the kids
2 miles, short Christmas morning run. Felt good. 139 AHR. 68 degrees in southern Florida at 8:00am! :)
I ran Christmas, first time since hurt my back. Initially a bit jarring, but motion is lotion. Running at relatives, they live top of the hill. I run down to and around a park. Forgot that I had to get back up to their house, legs were sore last night standing behind my wife at Holdem table
2 mile run. 153AHR. Need to get my runs in before 10am. Later than 10am here in SFL it is a bit warm for this northerner! :)
2 miles, 159AHR, nice run. Chilly for SFL in the low 50s and it felt great!
2 miles, 155AHR. Good run. Low-60s degrees F, the Florida in January we all love! :)
2 miles, not sure about AHR. Fitbit says 120 but it doesn’t seem right. Maybe it lost connectivity during the run. Low 70s and muggy!
Set a PR tonight for average in 3-5 distance:7.04

I mentioned km for distance, and PR for 2026, right?

Here you go, a screen shot from running on the deck of the ship while at anchor. It's tough running on a moving ship that's pitching under you, but when the ship is moving the GPS track appears as a straight line with little bumps in it.

That reminds me of I think it was a Smarter Every Day video? Where they showed off the search pattern of ship looking for people at sea. Stationary it looks odd, but then you take in consideration the current and winds it makes perfect sense.

Anyway, I'm back on my running schedule getting ready for the Half-Marathon in April again. We'll see how this one goes, I stopped most of my exercise around September due to developing Atrial Fibrillation. Gotta show this condition whats what and get a better time than I did last year.
Good luck with the a-fib! Mine took 3 ablations to finally fix, but it was worth it.
Short 1.5 mile run today. Moving back into more running after 2 weeks of focus on swimming.

65 degrees at 8:00am in SFL! :) First run with my Garmin 965. I like the detailed stats to help me with running form/technique. I have a history of not the greatest running form. Since I re-started running last year I am focused on better form to avoid aggravating hip bursitis created during the "old days". ;)
I love my garmin.

For better form I like a high cadence and low vertical ratio of 7.2 or less (running dynamics)

When I get fatigue, I anchor back to making sure those metrics look good.

Yes, I like the 965 so far. Slightly annoying that "activities" need to be manually started. Fitbit was auto-detect for everything, but didn't offer the quantity of stats that the Garmin provides. Garmin has an auto detect but you don't get full stats unless the activity is manually started.

I will focus on increased cadence and less ground contact time. Those metrics make sense to me and I can make improvements on those.
2 miles, 130HR. Made some progress on reducing ground contact and increasing cadence. Low 70s sunny and humid at 8am! :)
Nice, where was it before and was was your GTC now?

It's good to see progress. Happy running. I am stuck at 1 degrees :), today is a rest day

GCT was 276ms, latest is 271ms. Small change but I am new to the metric.

Cadence was 162spm latest is 177spm.
First full week of training in a while. Man I'm slow now.
