I’m looking into a 5TB external storage for the Ps5 bc it seems like it can only hold 6-8 games and I don’t want to keep deleting and reinstalling. I read that PS4 games can be played directly from the ES but not Ps5 games because of issues with speed.
Costco has a sale on a Seagate 5TB for 90. WD is highly recommended because it is tailored specifically for games. Any thoughts?

I installed the WD internal storage which has helped with PS5 games and then got a 2TB Samsung external SSD. Make sure you get memory with heat sink if you buy internal storage.

Yes, should work well. From what I’ve read, using an external SSD doesn’t do a whole bunch as far as game loading speed for PS4 games compared to a regular external hdd. That 5TB drive is a deal. I have three of them for my computers as additional storage and while they aren’t the fastest seem very reliable and consistent.
Personally i have a 3TB from seagate ive been using since the ps4. Now I also bought a samsung SSD thats 2 TB for the ps5, and that helped a lot too
As another data point for any others checking the thread:

I added a Samsung 980 Pro 2TB (https://a.co/d/6Zeag2Z) as additional internal storage to my PS5. Playing PS4 games straight from it has been great.
I picked up a Sabrent Rocket 1 TB NVMe drive from Amazon a year ago and that works really well for the price. I have it set to install PS5 games on the console and PS4 games on the Sabrent NVMe to distribute the space utilization.

I only play one game at a time and don't leave games I'm not playing installed long term. If I needed to download a 80 GB game, that's only a couple minutes download.
