anyone have any thoughts on the commotion of YT banning adblockers
I thought I saw somewhere that ublock on firefox, circumvents

when there are 1 short add is ok, but half way through a long video, or 2 long add back to bac or some you cant skip

I actually watched 2 add's which I thought... hmm this was interesting LOL

I don't like add's on MJ/drugs which I have been getting, or political crap/PSA
s

I often put on at work youtube as I have tinnitus, I find at times when the office is very quiet, in the morning, my tinnitus is more obvious, I sometimes put a bible sermon or music, back to back, but now the adds are ruining that.

Anyone with FF confirm Ublock stops ads on YT and isnt banned

thanks
You can allegedly stop the ads by (gasp!) paying for a YouTube subscription.....
nah............
I dont wanna pay for ad for drugs, if I hate them free, I dont think my brain can handle having to pay for them and funding, things like cannabis or PSA, thank you very much.

Looking, I can't stop certain ads nor report nor respond to them, you get what you get
and the ad companies get better.

Eventually they'll be ad's for wokenes, LGBTQIAA++++, and other rubbish, just a matter of time and no-way am I going to pay for the privilege.
I don't really care what people wanna do in there own spare time, I don't wanna watch/know or pay for it.

Since embarking on this, I think out of abour 100 forced add, I actually stopped and watched one about half way through, and that was for some game
if no-one has done this, I'll shoot up FF and give it a try, jjust wondering with the amount of folks on here if anyone has done this to save me wasting my time
I use FF and ublock on android and windows PC - not seen an ad on YouTube for years :)
FF and ublock on win10 works fine here.
On my phone (android), I use youtube revanced.

I just realized, I'm in europe.
It might be regionally different as privacy laws over here are way different.
Youtube sees through your IP where you're coming from (if you don't use a proxy or vpn or such) so they might act differently for you.
understood, nerdogray's user avatarnerdogray is in TN (US) ?
Imma latch onto this thread.

For desktop, I use Chrome and uBlock Origin and no ads at all.

This is not the same w my (Android) phone: I was doing fine w YT Vanced but they basically stonewalled access from that, so I'm wondering what are the good *free* alternatives? I've been suffering using real YT on the phone and getting those stupid ads, argh....
thanks tranquility's user avatartranquility

interesting development.

I downloaded ublock, followed the instructions from youtube (ironic:)) cleared the cache did the update, checked the site (does ublock origin work- got a green)

So I opened youtube, didnt play any vids, but set it to "OFF" just to see any bad things,
so far, not one single vid has played, before during or after, I've watched about 4 or 5 vids, perhaps 10, dont know lost count, not one single vid, BUT ublock is in bypass mode.

I'm looking out the curtains, I'm very jumpy every single noise is making my nerves tingle, WAIT............. I hear a siren... no, not for me............

are the youtibe police coming or not

dagnamit somone tell me !

OK, so ublock is on

YT vanced was indeed stonewalled. now there is 'YT REvanced' and works perfectly on my phone. Same concept, download the manager, and then install YT revanced from the manager (also has microg and yt music if you want), and has all the features YT vanced had like skip intro/outro/skip invideo ads etc etc

I wish I can thank you more than one time. Guido, you are amazing!!!!!

Tx also to nazali for making me bring up this issue again. I can't tell you guys how annoyed those stupid ads made me and all my futile attempts to circumvent them. Screw them haha.
I have always used uBlock Origin (Win10/Chrome) with great success, but about a month ago I started getting the "You can only play 3 videos..." notification.

A quick search turned up a script from Reddit (now gone) for Tampermonkey, which has been working flawlessly until just today :mad0260:.

Interestingly, I still have my music from last week playing at work, and it doesn't have an issue, so I'm fine until I have to restart.

Waiting for the big brains on Reddit to come up with something new (until it's taken down).

I have the same O/S and browser (my twin! haha) and don't have that prb (knock wood). Something's off.

I suspect those damn Chrome updates (I've had like 3 in 2 weeks? something ridiculous like that) aren't for 'security' but they're just trying to circumvent uBlock/etc. Screw them and their lousy ads.
OK, just found a new script.

I clicked on my Tampermonkey, Find New Scripts, typed in YouTube Adblock, installed the first script, didn't seem to work, then did the second one and now everything works again.

Feels a bit like cops and robbers, I like it. lol

Usually I'm a very fair person, but I remember when YouTube was free, and that's how I'm going to keep it. Bet.

Ya, I'm used to the 'ad-free' exp from the get-go, so it's weird to have to wait there for x secs when I just want to get to the video.
