Hi Everyone.
My 2020 M2 Comp - Hockenheim Silver had a small accident and a metal piece fell out of a bag and put a deep 6" scratch to the driver door down to the base layer. I'll post a pic in the daylight tomorrow.
I got an estimate from Mitek in K/W for $2,600 to paint the door and blend it into the fender. They do fantastic work... but I don't really want to spend $2600 if there is another option.
They said because the significant scratch is past the clear coat and down to the base layer (not metal), then there is no option to buff this out as there is nothing to work with. They even brought the detailer guy out and tried to buff it a bit with some compound, but it was obvious it would not work.
Any touch up paint, will stand out as well they said.
I do trust that Mitek knows exactly how to get my car back to factory... and I trust if they did the work it would be near perfect.
My questions to the group are:
1) Do I have any options?
2) Is there another vendor that I should get a quote from in my area that people recommend that I should go to?
