Is Hong Kong geo blocked now? I can't access the site from here at all and we're a sponsored vendor of the forum.
steve@codemybimmer wroteI wouldn't assume that HK is blocked atm, if you look through the thread you'll see people are having issues from all corners of the world atm.Is Hong Kong geo blocked now? I can't access the site from here at all and we're a sponsored vendor of the forum.
Hopefully they'll get back to you to sort it out.
I know it started randomly happening, and I can definitely access it on my phone by turning off my Wi-Fi.
It constantly says Bimmerpost connection has timed out despite the fact that I just managed to make a post through my computer prior. It will load a little bit than it just stops without me changing anything on my end.

First time I’ve been able to reach the website this whole week without a VPN.
Hope it stays this way.

Anyway, apptest sorted it for me, seems much quicker now too!
Working on WiFi now
I can't access via my home wifi either. Have to tether off my phone to brows the site. Any help would be great.
apptest wroteSorry I just saw this, I'm now at my father in law's in Germany for Christmas and it's working fine from here.If you pm me with your blocked IP address I can look into it more
I'll PM you once I'm back home, but honestly there's clearly something majorly wrong and has been for at least half a year; you really need to identify whatever it is, or just turn off whatever security feature started this in the first place, because it's going to kill the forum.
I'm already finding that I'm using Reddit for my BMW discussions because it's so much more convenient, if this isn't fixed very soon this entire forum is quickly but quietly going to reach a tipping point where people will stop bothering to try visiting and it'll spiral from there, probably irrecoverably. I'd hate to see that happen.
Re-subscribed because it just happened again earlier today
, had been ok since the fix until then.

I hope they fix whatever is happening. I don’t know what is causing it. Maybe instead of a blanket IP ban for bots they can do it a little bit differently.
Using Safari on my Mac opening the site is very much a hit or miss, getting cannot find server error. Firefox or Chrome works on same computer. Safari is my main browser and not looking to switch to either for various reason.
Any settings in Safari that may interfere? Mine is all the defaults with only the 1Password extension. private window in Safari does not help

I've read through some of the prior posts in this thread mainly on account I am experiencing similar issues. But behavior you observe, given two of three browsers on the same computer are able to connect, is different. Even a chance Safari connects via proxy whereas Firefox and Chrome do not ? Or vice versa ? Or some other difference in network connection between browsers ?
My experience and there is indication of same for others is the connection to the *.bimmerpost.com server is blocked at an IP address level. Hence changing your IP address via use of a VPN restores ability to connect. If you have option to use a VPN, it would be a great troubleshooting tool for you. As in are you able to connect via all browsers while using a VPN ?
Best,
I’m back for my bi-monthly request to have me unblocked for whatever reason I’m getting blocked every couple of months. I will send a PM as usual.
I too am facing this issue…
Edit: I can’t seem to PM Apptest…

Best,
I just tried with a VPN and no such luck.
Edit: switched locations a few times and one started to work. We will see how long this lasts for.

The site is broken and not usable.
… for bots! 😂
On the chance your a real person, feel free to PM your ip address to me and I can take a further look. Of course saying you tried from ‘multiple ISPs in new york’ doesnt exactly sound right, so just one of those will be enough lol
Of course, if that’s actually true (you use multiple ISPs in New York), it speaks to a you problem and not an IP block. If it really is happening like that, the more (accurate) information you can provide the better

I can connect using Safari about 4-5 times out of 10. Absolutely no rhyme or reason
