⚡️⚡️⚡️ OFFICIAL CHANGES to the 2026 Formula 1 Technical Regulations
✅ Reduction of the charging limit from 8 MJ (megajoules) to 7 MJ (megajoules)
✅ Peak superclipping power increased from 250 kW to 350 kW, which should reduce battery recharge time.
These measures should help drivers attack more fully during qualifying and conserve energy less.
✅ Maximum power when pressing the Boost button is limited to +150 kW.
✅ MGU-K generator deployment will be limited to 250 kW in certain parts of the track, rather than 350 kW.
These measures are intended to limit the significant differences in car speed during the race while charging the battery.
‼️ MAIN THING: a new "Low Power Start Detection System" is being developed.
Now, if the acceleration is abnormally low after the clutch is released, the MGU-K generator will deploy to provide the minimum power necessary for a normal start.
In addition, warning lights will now illuminate on cars with this issue, and the energy dump counter at the start of the lap has been corrected.
These measures should ensure normal, risk-free starts for everyone.

Following discussions between FIA, F1 and the Miami promoter, the decision has been taken to move the start of Sunday's Miami Grand Prix to 13:00 local time in Miami due to the weather forecast that is expected to bring heavier rainstorms later in the afternoon, close to the original planned race start time
