Whoops. Looks like Aston Martin-Honda are in big trouble. The Honda V6 has vibration issues causing problems for the hybrid unit. The powerplant is underpowered too.

Some people may complain that BMW has lost it's way but Honda and Toyota are having lots of reliability problems. I cannot understand how they can go from Red Bull to Aston and have some many problems.

I think Newey made a mistake going there. I do not like Lawrence Stroll and his kid should not be in F1. Aston Martin just seems like lipstick on a pig. There cars seemed to be better when Ford owned them.

The word is Aston Martin's are so slow or screwed up that they may lost out on 107% qualifying rule. They have to show up or they will be fined.

Max kind of stunned the knowledgeable racing world when he did sports cars at the Nurburgring. I think he had to qualified for the sports cars license (GT 3?) in a BMW. Then he raced at the Ring in a Ferrari 296.

Max left everyone in the dust during the race. Crazy stuff.
BAHRAIN GP MAY GET CANCELED!

๐Ÿ’ฅImola or Portimao are being considered as replacements for this race.

๐Ÿ’ฅA decision is expected soon.

โ€ผ๏ธ A new, important change to the 2026 Formula 1 rules

Now, if it rains between qualifying and the race, teams in Parc Ferme have the right to change from dry to wet setups without incurring a position penalty.

BUT: only if the FIA โ€‹โ€‹has implemented a Rain Hazard mode.

They can now implement this mode two hours before the start of QUALIFYING if the probability of rain is > 40%.

It remains in effect until the end of the weekend, regardless of weather changes, even if all sessions end up dry.

However, if teams encounter variable rain in qualifying and the race, they can change their setups without penalty under this mode.

Yes, large sections of air space are now being closed to commercial air traffic in nations neighboring Iran; especially those that have an airport.
>
As of March 3, 2026, the situation is as follows:
Airspace Closures
Total Closures: Airspace remains officially closed or virtually empty over Iran, Iraq, and Israel.
Regional Impact: Extensive closures or severe restrictions have also affected Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Syria.
Extended Warnings: The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended its warning for airlines to avoid the region until at least March 6, 2026.

Airport Status
Damaged Hubs: Major international hubs, including Dubai International Airport (DXB), Abu Dhabi, and Doha, were reportedly hit by Iranian strikes and remained shuttered for several days.
Limited Resumption: On March 2 and 3, a small number of flights began departing from Abu Dhabi (Etihad) and Dubai (Emirates) as airlines prioritized repatriation and cleared stranded passengers.

Airline Operational Changes
Cancellations: Over 3,200 flights were canceled in the first 48 hours of the conflict. Major carriers like Lufthansa have extended flight suspensions to the region until March 8.
Rerouting: Long-haul flights between Europe and Asia are now diverting through Saudi Arabia and Oman to the south, or through Georgia, Azerbaijan, and Afghanistan to the north.
Stranded Passengers: An estimated hundreds of thousands of travelers are currently stranded globally due to the sudden closure of these critical transit hubs.

Travel Advisory: If you have upcoming travel, check your flight status directly via Flightradar24 or your airline's official app, as schedules remain highly fluid.
โšก๏ธ On the official Formula 1 podcast, Carlos Sainz was asked who will be champion in 2026.

- I'll name two names: George Russell or Max Verstappen.

- Can you explain why in more detail?

- No, I can't.

โ€ผ๏ธ Does Carlos know anything?

โšก๏ธโšก๏ธโšก๏ธ HOW TO MONITOR YOUR DRIVERS' CHARGING IN THE 2026 FORMULA 1 SEASON

Although Formula 1 TV was a bit of a bummer with the battery status infographic (the most interesting thing we were waiting for), we can still tell what's going on by the warning lights on the car (rear and side mirrors).

๐Ÿ’ฅ BLINKED ONCE.

This means the MGU-K is still supplying energy to the system, increasing speed, but at a level below the permitted 350 kW.

In practice, from this point on, the car's acceleration may vary and be less rapid than when the MGU-K was delivering maximum electrical power without the warning lights.

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ BLINKED TWICE

This means that the MGU-K is effectively shutting down, as it is not only no longer supplying electrical energy to the system to increase speed, but it is not yet regenerating it.

At this stage, the car runs exclusively on the internal combustion engine (gasoline), which produced 500 horsepower in 2026.

๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ’ฅ CONTINUOUSLY BLINKING

The MGU-K has entered full battery/electric charging mode, while the internal combustion engine continues to operate at full power.

This means that the car is now only storing energy, even if the driver is at full throttle.

In this case, during high-speed sections, there will be moments when the driver hits the throttle, but the battery will still be primarily charged.

This way, drivers behind will immediately know the energy level of their opponent.

When the MGU-K starts recharging, that sudden drop in speed occurs.

And the driver behind realizes they're about to suddenly close in on the driver in front. And now we, too, will have a better understanding of what's happening.

โ€ผ๏ธ THE INFOGRAPHIC DESCRIBES A CASE WHEN CLIPPING OCCURRES.

AT THIS MOMENT, THE BATTERY IS CHARGING, AND THE CAR LOSES SPEED AT THE END OF THE STRAIGHT.
