Is this car worth $33K?

Hi - Appreciate your take on whether this 2011 M3 Sedan (competition, with rod bearings and actuators replaced) is worth $33K based on the condition you see in the photos.

Does the dealer have paperwork for the TA and RB replacements?

Yes

They are certainly asking top dollar for it. Based on the pictures on the website, there are several things I would want to look for. First, there is some staining on the wheels from brake dust. This, combined with the dust you can see leftover from the engine bay wash shows that the car may have been washed infrequently. It does look quite clean on the interior and the paint looks really good (from what I can see), so it may be that the car was garaged, not driven often and sat for a while in-between washes. Not necessarily a bad thing, just something to keep an eye on.

There's definitely seepage around the valve cover gaskets, which is normal, but take that into consideration with your maintenance budget. I'd also check the battery and voltage when the car is running. That's one thing I usually forget to check, but if the alternator hasn't been replaced before, it's probably going to come up in a year or so.

Besides that, since it's coming from a BMW dealership, they're going to have it in good running condition so you really shouldn't have anything weird that they would have neglected. Good luck!

I just had a look and agree. Could also be oil cap leaking. See the valve cover area is not a uniform clean grey appearance and instead has oily residue around it. That’s a clear indication and it nearly always happens, especially around that mileage. Either way new valve covers and gaskets is the solution. I replaced mine at a similar mileage. Good luck!

NYR0027 I think pirategenes is probably correct, it definitely looks more like a leaky oil cap after a closer look. You'll probably need valve cover gaskets at some point either way, usually around the 90k mark they are seeping, but you might be lucky in this case and just need to get a new oil cap and clean around that area really well.

The M3 in your link is not from 2021 . The M3 for sale is from 2011.

I would only sell my car to buy a 992 Turbo-S in (PTS) Oslo blue.

Still around, great.... 31k miles, you need to start driving that car before you can even think about changing mate!

For an e90, this is a fair price. Given the smaller timeframe they were produced, I’ve notice they demand more than a similarly spec’d and condition coupe. This e90 also has decently low miles. With the documentation of RB and TA, I’d jump on it!

I was on the hunt for an e92/90 for five or so years, and just bought my e92 a few months ago. If this e90 was listed back then, I would have jumped on it myself.
