I need more F1

These guys have more money than anyone. They can race every weekend

Maybe 2 races per location if that cuts costs I’m good with that ?

Hate the off weeks.

I will give F1 a few more races next year. If they cannot remove the inability to pass I am done.

I appreciat the technology and skill in the sport, but it has gotten pretty boring.

Hard disagree. There are too many races, and WAY too many street circuits. Scarcity creates value. Give me sub-20 race seasons again, it's getting out of control. Current formula is god-awful too. 25+ year F1 fan and I hardly watch right now.

Totally agree, I started watching in 1996 when there were 16 races per season. Although I haven't technically missed any races, when I can't watch races live, I find myself just watching the official Race in 30 recap. I never did that when there were only 16 races (I used to record on VCR, and pass the tape around to friends that couldn't get the SpeedVision cable channel).

I started watching around 1995 and stopped watching regularly after the 2018 season when they introduced the halo. I still watch a few races now and then, but I just can't get excited anymore.

Can't overtake
Can't hear the engines
Can't refuel
Can't have women on the grid
Can't see (because of the stupid carbon fiber thong)
Can't celebrate with Champagne
Can't curse

I know it's a boomer take, but I just think it's lost some of that drama and excitement that it used to have.

Allow the drivers to fight a bit more, there is too much investigating over every single little thing, relax, let them race. And I don't care about energy generation and expensive hybrid drivetrains, I just want some proper racing with a good soundtrack. Bring back the V8's.

That said some things are better now. I think the costcap for example is good.
However with all the races and huge expansion, teams are so valuable that entry of new teams and engine suppliers hardly happens. Not at all like it was in the 80's or 90's.
That's what I miss the most. Especially in the 80's and early 90's F1 was pretty wild and cars differed a lot.
I started watching in the early 80's because my dad was a big motorsports fan. So I also saw Senna enter the sport and became a fan pretty fast.
All my friends watched soccer, I watched motorsports (not only F1 but also motoGP and Dakar, that was mental back then too)

Instead of F1 boredom, with close to zero overtakes, no refueling dramas surrounding the pit entry, you could just switch to Motogp, it is 10x more interesting, has 22 locations and 44races,every other weekend from March to November... I didnt watch a single F1 race since like 2015,super boring

That is why DRS finally came along (2010 or so?).

The problem now is that cars can't follow so closely because tyres overheat.
Car's get so complicated aero wise. But if you put a stop on that you're severely limiting the technical evolution and you're basically turning the cars into cup cars. Nobody watches that. People watch F1 because it's the pinnacle.

The tires/tyres overheat because you lose aero when following too close. IMO, this is the issue with F1.

Yes, the cars are the pinnacle of engineering... and sadly also the pinnacle of boring.

Here is how I watch F1 now.

Q1 - Q3. I watch the last 4 minutes of each session.
Race. I watch until the lead car is out of DRS range, then I fast foward and watch the leader board. If there is a non-pit pass or yellow flag, I resume play to see what happened. I do that until the end of the race.

I can watch Qualifying and the race in about 10 minutes.
