Question about running 295/35/R18 on ET 22 10.5" Rear wheels on an E92

Hi guys, I've purchased a set of staggered apex ec7 wheels 9.5 and 10.5 ET 22 for my E92 and was hoping to see if anyone has experience running a 295 wide tire in the rear.

Specifically:
295/35/R18 Continental ExtremeContact Sports 02.

I know it's a relatively new tire but from what I've seen and read they run true to size or a bit smaller.

The question is whether I'd need to roll my fenders (which I'd rather not do), or if it's possible to just camber the rear wheels in more to ensure I have no rubbing on the inner fender.

I'm on ST XTAs at around the same ride height as a zcp package suspension.

I understand the alternative is to run 285/35 and it will be a direct fit but I'm trying to go for a very meaty setup (also doing 275 in the front).

If anyone can advise for or against this it would be really helpful.

I see here this person is running it, doesnt look like their fender is rolled, but just has a lot of camber in the back:

I think you’ll be fine. I’m on 18x11 ET21 with 295/30/18 in the rear, no rubbing with -2.0 camber.

im doing 35 apsect ratio though.

I ended up just doing 285 in the rear with PS4S since they dont even make 295/35/18.

295/35 is too tall, so 295/30 is the appropriate choice in that width. 285/35 is a better choice though. I too have 10.5et22. Fits great, the 285 is slightly stretched but not bad. I can even put in a little 3 or 5mm spacer if I really want the tire to right up to the fender.

Yea I think that's what Ill do. Get a 5mm spacer. You think ill get rubbing with that on stock rear camber?

I suppose i can always test fit it and get a 3mm later.

I have EC-7 18x10.5 et22 in the rear and run a 10mm spacer with a 285/35 PS4S at -1.8 camber with no issues. I'm lowered on swift springs. I tried Falken's RT660+ at 295/30 and it was way too short, I could fit my whole gorilla hand in between the tire and fender where as it was less than a finger gap with the 285/35. Paired with the 275/35 in the front the car looked wonky. Fortunately I didn't drive on them and the tire shop swapped them out for me. The 660+ don't come in a 285 width so I threw the 275 on the rear and got a pair of 265 for the front. All in all the 265/275 set up was significantly wider than the 265/285 PS4S it replaced. I still need more front tire though.
Of note, 295/30 is 25.1 diameter, more than an 1 inch shorter than the 26.3 dia. 265/40/18 stock size. A 295/35 is only 26.1, I'd run that with a 275/35 up front or even a 285/35.

Thanks so much for this reply. I've spent hours trying to find an answer and even emailed apex but heard nothing back.

I ended up doing the ps4s in 265 and 285 both 35 aspect as I want that extra sidewall. 30 aspect was not gonna cut it for me.

However the 10mm spacer on the rear, lowered with those camber settings is exactly what I was looking for.

I ended up order a set of VS5RS' after realizing I've been running my EC7s for 6 years (they'll be switched to AS duty). I've been using the 285/35/18 on that original setup; same 10.5 et 22 in the rear. I've added an SC and heavily modified the car at this point, so I'm trying to bump up the rears to 295/35. I'm glancing at my rear tires and it looks like the 295/35 should fit. The Conti's seem to have a narrower tread than the Michelin's, so it's looking like it should be an okay fit. For reference, I'm running MCS 1WNR with articulated perches ~2 degrees of camber in the rear (corner balanced).

Hey thanks for this. I will probably go with 295s in the rear next time (conti ecs2s).

For the record in case anyone stumbles upon this thread in the future:

I put 5mm spacers in the rear to fill it out and it fit perfectly, no rubbing with 285/35/r18 michelin PS4S, at around a zcp equivalent ride height on ST XTA coilovers.

Can't complain it looks great. Super happy with the setup. Now I just need to repaint my bumpers, hood, restore my headlights, swap my failing thermostat out and install my carbon splitters all around.

That 5mm spacer may be bringing you pretty close to the 295 fitment, though a touch shorter. I may add a 5mm spacer to the front now that I'm running a bit of camber.
