ColourLock Alternative? (Factory Matte Leather Seat Finish)

Just looking for an alternative to remove the shine from the leather and return it to the matte factory look. Steering wheel as well.

ColourLock seemed to be the most talked about in previous threads. However, looks like ColourLock is pretty much sold out and has been since last summer, looks like they went though some acquisition and it messed up inventory levels.

Any other recommendations?

Leather honey is good as well. They also make conditioner for after cleaning.

Looks like Colourlock was bought by Koch Chemie. I know they have Leather Star but haven’t used it. Wonder if they are planning on getting some more products out there or selling it under their own label.

Merino Leather from shiny to matte?

FYI - I ended up going with P&S DOUBLE BLACK XPRESS INTERIOR CLEANER as well as trying GYEON Q²M LEATHER CLEANER NATURAL.

Both are amazing and did exactly what I wanted it to do - remove skin oils and debris from the seats to return to a factory matte finish with no after smell. P&S smells so good when using it though, ended up being the one I used way more and will be my go-to moving forward.

Nice, good info to report. I’ve been using Gtechniq Foaming Leather Cleaner and Ammo NYC Silque.

My 95K mile steering wheel. The Ammo stuff buffs off nicely without any greasy residue.

Because I want to use the correct protection products in the correct spots,
I just want to know what i really leather and what is not.

Here's what I think I know about my 25 M3 with Full Merino:
The seating area, bottom of dash, back of seats. I'm unsure about the upper windshield part of the dash but think it may be synthetic?

Anything that feels like leather is leather in your case; the Full leather option gets you the upper parts of the doors and the entire dash, including the bottom (glovebox and surrounding; anything brown in your case).

I bought Veganza Leather Cleaner at the recommendation by the parts lady. I believe , according to the directions it cleans “artificial surfaces “. That’s not a leather conditioner methinks. This was from my local BMW dealer.

You bought a cleaner.

I use Leatherique, works wonderful, its a 2 part system.

I have used several products for leather seats, BMW, Lexol, Griot’s, and maybe others. All were ok, but this July based on recommendations here I tried Leatherique and found it to be subpar. I left it overnight as recommended and was difficult to wipe off. Luckily, it came off but it looked the same as it was before. At least there’s no damage. I can’t recommend this.

You need to follow the instructions.

That doesn’t deserve a comment. On the other hand, I was very satisfied with Sonax. I omitted that. I do recommend that one.

I would suggest looking into Ledermax.

100%, Leatherique is trash. It does nothing for coated automotive leather.
