Nurburing Ring Taxi G80 M3 Comp Touring vs 992GT3RS

This is not the most relevant to this sub, but I thought you sim racers know the track well.

G80 M3 Comp Touring vs 992GT3RS

I am going to visit the track and I have two options on cars. Wanted to get peoples insights. I know the ring taxi won't push the car to the limit but their official times are different by a significant amount.

I currently drive a f80 m3 and it makes the most sense to go in the car i kind of drive, however wanted to get feedback.

Any thoughts what would give me a better experience?

Pros- Same car I drive, slightly cheaper, girlfriend can come (she would rather skip it)

GT3-
Full race car, built for the track, highest likely hood for full blown track experience.

I don't think you are splitting hairs at all. Two very different cars and experiences.

One you drive everyday. The other is a scalpel you may never get to drive again, let alone on one of the most infamous race tracks in the world. Take the Porsche, you will have an amazing story to tell!

Pretty sure he's asking about what car to get a ride along in a TAXI, not a rental.

OP, when you say, "GT3 full racecar," do you mean an NLS/N24 car? Or the street car? Because you need to be aware of schedules, if it's not an NLS weekend you're not gonna get a ride along in a GT3 car with one of the teams or GetSpeed.

If you're referring to Touristenfahrten Ring Taxi sessions, you only have two providers that aren't Hyundai... You have Ring Taxi and GetSpeed. If you want a ride along I'd go all out in Ring Taxi's 992 Manthey car.

If you're talking actual racecar and you're around for an NLS weekend, go with GetSpeed or one of the teams.


If you're renting a prepped car to drive on your own - I'd go with a Swift or other lower powered car. Anything substantial is going to be extremely overwhelming and not fun in the long run unless you have extensive track time already under your belt. Summer weekends at the Ring are a complete cluster F these days... I'd stick to an evening in the middle of the week if possible.

I was referring to the ring taxis not the race weekend.

I ended up going with the gt3RS with getspeed. Manthey was booked up, and the g80 m3 touring is not really the same car as me 3400 pound f80 lol.

Got the first slot at 5:00 Pm so hope he rips it!
