New to me project

This is my 35th BMW and 12th M car. I always had a thing for s65 in a 4 door form and I recently found one in IB. I wanted a slick top and a manual in IB, but I got a DCT with a sunroof. Can't complain.

I did a ton of stuff in the first month and looking for recommendations on what else I should be considering.

Engine & Valve Train
Replace aluminum valve cover set
Replace valve cover gasket kit
Upgrade VANOS covers to billet chromoly units
Replace spark plug tubes
Replace all 8 spark plugs

Fuel System
Replace all 8 fuel injectors
Replace fuel injector hold-down clips
Replace fuel tank breather/purge valve

Throttle System
Replace both throttle actuator units
This was the primary issue causing the engine malfunction and DSC fault.

She feels very strong, but I am pretty sure there is something I missed. Suggestions or recommendations are welcome.

Looks great! The Ohlins R/T are a great setup, if the mileage is up there, may want to look at other suspension components and bushings for upgrade/replacement. RB's done already? Looks like you knocked just about everything else out though, that's a long list!

Oh yes, RB's were done by the previous owner.
Suspension components are next on the list. Is FCP a good source?

What a restoration. Love the look, the LM’s and how you went about the work.

The car looks stunning, the work done is impressive. This one clearly ended up in the very right hands mate!

Holy crap, that is certainly a ton of work in one month. Good job! Your M3 should be running very well. Here are some additional suggestions:

1. Air filter -probably already done but didn’t see it.
2. Cabin filters -clogged filters won’t leave you stranded but old ones will smell up the cabin.
3. Oxygen sensors -if they’re original should replace them to ensure ECU is getting the most accurate sensor data to adjust air-fuel
4. Low pressure fuel sensor -original ones tend to fail and throw codes. Newer version needs an adapter (OE Bosch).
5. Driveshaft center support bearing -old rubber bushing cracking/tearing. Symptoms include cowbell clunk when going into gear or vibration under acceleration.

I am adding a few items from your list as I already had a driveshaft and o2 sensors for the next stage. Thank you!

Any thoughts on CF slick top roof from IND? I know it's labor intense and it requires a very good body shop, but I am making the car my own and I hate sunroofs.

Welcome to the E90 side of the house, your car looks great, I have the same one myself (IB E90).

I hate my sunroof as well and would love to do the CF roof. Costly, but hardest part nowadays is sourcing the anthracite E90 slicktop headliner, it's been out of production for awhile now and hard to locate, even in used condition.

I don't believe headliners are interchangable between an E92 and E90. I also checked realoem.com and they are very clearly different part #'s, so just be careful if purchasing this item as the description states it will fit all E9x M3s. Says it was removed from a 2010 M3 but does not specify with model.
