I've been thinking of doing the Ground Control coilover conversion kit. Anybody have any opinions/comments after having installed this kit? Thanks.
Yes, thanks. Your thread was the one that made me consider this kit in the first place :) Any further opinions/comments since you've had it on for a while?
All is great - no complaints - did an alignment after the springs settled -been ver happy with it - now I've reached the limit of the EDC shocks and I'm ready to move on to a full coilover kit, just have to decide which one.
what did I miss???

I'm very interested in this kit as well.

I'm planning on meetin up with Mastek hopefully next week and going for a ride in his car to see what I think.

Did this ever happen?
Nobody else with this kit?? GC seemed to be the sh*t on the E46M3 boards at roadfly, thought there would be responses here :sigh:
Had mine for quite a while - I like it quite a bit. Body control is best on firm but on crappy pavement it can be a bit jarring so I drop it back to comfort and back to firm when things smooth out. Defintely the best setup if you don't want to do coilovers. Cornerbalance and put -2 to -2.5 negative camber up front and the car has a nice balance at the track. Great bang for the buck!

Thx,

Thanks Barry. I'm assuming you're talking about the EDC settings or no ? How's it do with body roll or understeer? Do you have or recommend a front sway to go with it?

Yes edc settings. Roll is reduced some and understeer is reduced by being able to add more camber up front. No idea on a front sway....

Have had mine on since last April and drove 15 track days last season. I have pics (somewhere... can try to dig them out if you need them) going thru the same turn pre- and post-install and can tell you roll was significantly reduced. Ride is stiffer than stock on all settings (shouldn't be a surprise tho). Call Jay at Ground Control if you want a sway recommendation - he's awesome and really knows this setup and this car.

Just installed this kit over the weekend. We'll corner weight & align the car this week and hope to have some driving impressions by the end of this week/early next week.
Install went fairly well. Instructions were a little vague, but if you're at all mechanically inclined the correct procedure should come together.

I opted for the softer spring setup since this car will primarily be driven on the street. So far after a few laps around the block it seems to be a decent match for the damping of the EDC shocks... maybe even better than the Eibach pro kit springs we pulled out.

I'll post pics later, but the rears are sitting maybe half way down on the adjustable perches, while the fronts are at full drop. This is roughly where it will live (plus or minus after the corner weight) and provides a decent drop with just a slight rake... maybe 1/2-3/4 inch higher in the rear if measured from the rocker panel. GC might have allowed for more drop in the front, but the shocks simply won't allow for it with the existing design of their threaded perch.

So far the only complaints I have with this particular kit are the vagueness of the instructions and the lack of rear adjustable sway bar endlinks... something I highly recommend adding in if you plan on corner weighting and getting the most out of your setup.

Overall it seems like good value for money. I now have GC kits on four of my own cars, including an E46 M3 that gets tracked, and this seems to be on par with the others I've installed in terms of fitment & quality.
