Lightest wheels?

What is the lightest 19inch wheel available for our cars?
Advan Rs-d?

BBS F1 (weights courtesy of Victory Road)

• 18.3lbs (front)
• 19.4lbs (rear)

Advan RZ-DF (weights courtesy of Alekshop)

• 18.6lbs (front)
• 19.4lbs (rear)

The Advan wheels are considerably cheaper than the BBS F1, it really comes down to your budget and personal taste. I am sure there are lighter carbon fibre/magnesium wheels available, again it comes down to the amount you are comfortable spending.

BBS RI-D is the lightest and the heaviest on your wallet.

Dymag makes a very light wheel. It's carbon too!

Dymag has been out of business for a few years....

Volk makes very lightweight wheels too (and available in great sizes / offsets). The Advan's listed above are only available in 9" / 10" widths (last I checked) which somewhat limits the tire sizes that work well with the wheels. If you are going to change wheels I think you should get something wider and increase your tire widths if you can. Volk's are the best bang for the buck, lightweight wheels. Money no object - the BBS FI's are the best IMO.

RAC wheels are pretty light i forgot what they weight.

+1 That's why I own 2 sets of TE37SL's which are still cheaper than 1 set of FI's. The FI's are definitely my favorite wheel, but I just can't justify the cost of them myself.

HRE makes, or was making, carbon wheels. They entered into a partnership with Dymag back in 2009. My observation was that there really wasn't a ton of weight savings going with the carbon rims. This makes me think it wouldn't be worth getting them considering the extra price and durability issues with carbon (my understanding is that carbon is not as resilient when it comes to sharp impacts).

I realize that Advan makes other models but I don't think that their forged wheels are any cheaper than Volk (last I checked). When you compare Advan's cast wheels to Volk's forged wheels there is certainly cost savings (which isn't an apples to apples comparison). Either way you are correct in that Advan makes great wheels

Saw in the local classifieds a set of bbs LM-Rs 19s for sale. I believe their 20 something pounds. Anyone know if this is lighter then the stock 19s?

Stock 359m's (ZCP) are around 26lbs from what I remember.

BBS are great wheels and LM-R's are an excellent choice except for the fact that they are only available in 10" width for the rear. Like I said above - I would want wider wheels (and tires) then stock if going through the trouble of changing.

Non-ZCP are lighter. They are forged. Not sure on the weight... How about you do a search? You have 220M wheels.

IIRC, OEM 220s (19") weigh about 24 front, 26 rear. OEM 218s (18") are about the same. Not sure which one you have the the ZCP wheels are a little heavier than either.

I was comparing Advan's cast wheels to Volk's forged wheels. Advan cast wheels are pretty light as well and priced well below Volk's pricing. The Advan RS, RZ, TC3 etc.

The RZ in 18x10 inch size is only 19.75 lbs. Pretty damn light for a non-forged wheel.
