N53 Injector Success & help needed!
So I bought a new-to-me 2010 N53 325i late last year and after only a few weeks it developed a misfire on two cylinders.I stopped driving it apart from small distances (to the mechanic, shops etc) as I heard that this would cause more problems.
- Tried forte injector cleaner to no avail.
- New bosch plugs and coils, didn't solve it.
- New NGK plugs as I read that bosch are no good for this engine.
When my mechanic took out the bosch plugs, the front 3 were coated in black soot. It had been started up and driven into his garage so i suspect this was fuel that had leaked from the injectors.
Pulled the codes which confirmed that 1 and 3 were misfiring. At minimum I would need 3 injectors. I got quoted £1850 from a specialist and £1600 from a BMW dealership to change cylinders 1,2 & 3 to index 11 injectors. This seemed a bit silly as that's a quarter of the cars worth so I decided to buy some used injectors of eBay, new teflon seals and new decoupling elements. Replaced them this weekend and coded them to the car.
The misfire is now gone! No more "put put put" and it sounds a lot better to drive.
Happy to answer any questions.
The version of INPA I have did the trick but it's in German and as such is a nightmare to use. Is there a good version of INPA that anyone can share with me? I've tried a few different ones from various forums and they're either:
* In German
* Missing the N53
* Missing the injector coding options.
I do still have a NOX sensor code so that's going to need fixing next. NOXEM, new NOX sensor... What's the best option for me?
Cheers
