help: e90 Eccentric Shaft Actuator Seized In Place?
First post here 🙏 I bought a 2007 328i for relatively cheap to work on as a learning project. everything’s been going smoothly so far, until it came time to replace the Valvetronic Motor/Eccentric shaft actuator. It will not loosen whatsoever.
After researching the process, here’s what i did: I disconnected the battery I removed the surrounding coil packs for clearance and unplugged the valvetronic motor I used a 4mm Allen wrench to turn the motor clockwise, and I stopped after feeling tension I removed all 3 of the E8 bolts holding in the motor I used the Allen wrench again to gradually turn the motor counter clockwise, which should hypothetically release the motor, but i get nothing. What am i missing? It doesn’t even seem remotely loose, it sits in there very firmly as if i never even touched it. I’ve tried lightly and evenly prying around it, but not much because I’m scared to damage the eccentric shaft. I’m very very new to all of this, so don’t be scared to talk to me like i’m stupid. I appreciate you all 🙏 |
