Control Arm Bolt Snapping?

Hi all, I’m going to keep this short but I drive a 328i 2008 e93 and I just finished replacing my water pump and tstat so the cars been sitting a few days. After my first real drive I hit a minor bump in the road (not a crazy pothole or anything just the way the road is) and my steering wheel went way out of wack. After inspecting, I snapped the control arm bolt in the rear. Last time this was removed was almost 2 years ago when I replaced the wheel bearings. Any insight on how this coudlve happened? Rest of the bolt is visible on the trailing arm/ lower control arm
