Turbo help

320d N47 turbo starti
E90 N47 engine 320D 2008 started whistling with loss of power, managed to make it home.
Quite a bit of white smoke from first to second then stopped, but whistling
Remained. Mechanic said it was turbo, quite a lot of play.

So I replaced turbo, changed oil.

Started car very slight whistling still, drove up street 50 yards, car revved
Very high without me touching accelerator lots of white smoke then cut out.

Pushed back onto drive thought id screwed up engine as wouldn't start.
Engine management light on and exclamation mark.

Went to car next morning started up first time, idling erratic and still small amount of
Whistling. Turned car off, under bonnet small amount of oil splatter on right
Hand side of egr near intake manifold. No oil around turbo or anywhere else.

99000 miles, oil changes for the last 14 years average around 4,000 pa.

Did I screw up turbo fitting ? Or is this a different problem ?
Any help what to check diagnose much appreciated 👍
