I know it's a bump to a fairly old thread, but I just got into E9x waters (well, 3 years ago) and now I'm constantly looking for upgrades or retrofits.
I've got a 2005 e91, one of the first models (september 2005) so it's pretty early in with base sound (6 speakers total, no amps) The question regarding the front door speakers: I've noticed they have a 4ohm resistor attached, blocking the second port which is usually used to plug the tweeters in. Now, we are in a ChatGPT era (and it says I shouldn't remove the resistor or replace it with the tweeter), but it's not perfect, so: Would it be safe to remove the resistor and plug the tweeter in? What would other options be, if that doesn't work? Photo of the said speaker: View post on imgur.comcheers! Last edited by Skelturoth; 09-12-2025 at 03:30 PM.. |
