Hello Technic, I am looking to buy two harnesses: one for a Base/Stereo system and one for a HiFi (option 676) system. Both cars will be using JL Audio HD900/5 amplifier.

I realize it could be some time before you have either available but at least I can get in on the "waiting list" perhaps?

Hey guys I had the misfortune of having some wires cut. Now no sound from radio and all other notification sounds. Can anyone help? Pic inserted shows where the damage occurred. Trunk leading to amp.

Hey Technic, I know this is a mega old bump, but I've just picked up an E60 with the standard base stereo and CCC professional nav.

From my very limited knowledge, the speakers powered from the headunit with no amp and no tweeters. OK, cool. I am looking at the MB Quarts upgrade kit with the additional tweeters, mids and floor woofers. I was thinking just adding them for now and seeing how it sounds, but knowing at heart I will need an amp.

I have an older JL Audio £6450 with high level input, so from what I can see, I can simply take the feed from the underfloor subs to the JL amp, and then run the wires back to the floor subs on their own. Or, can I also feed the door speakers too (it's a 6 channel amp).

I guess it makes it hard with me having no OEM amp in the trunk already.

Any advice you can offer would be greatly appreciated

Technic has not been on this board for years now. More than a decade.

to the guy with the broken wires they are color coded at least for the stereo wires
so you should be able to put them back together. .
The fiber lines will have to be replaced.

There's 3 harnesses to chosen from. If I wanted to run my e6450 amp, which harness should I chose? I'm thinking the 2/4 harness and I can then only run 4 of my available channels.

Or is there a way I could splice the harness/RCAs to run channels 1&2 back to the front doors, then bridge channels 3&4 and 5&6 to the floor subs? Or would that just be overkill?

The 4/6 harness runs all hi fi positions it is essentially a Hi Fi harness.

Program head unit to Hi Fi to get around eq problems and to use low level inputs.

2/4 harness splits the parallel connection for the fronts.
If you want to bridge channels I recall the stock wiring was good for 150 watts a channel
but you should check this.

Anyway there are descriptions of each harness setup if you select it at technics website.

The Gladen/AudioSystem tweeter crossover has 4 adjustments so it is possible that you can get away with a decent sound without correcting the OEM HU high level EQ output. That or you can code your OEM iDrive to output HiFi (best solution and it can be done remotely by forum vendor BimmerTech).

The XD600/6 can accept high level signals up to 4VRMS/~6V and can sum the iDrive front and rear outputs to create the woofer channels. That should work if you keep the gains at minimum.

I can provide you with a custom Stereo 4/6 (4-RCA outputs, 6 speaker inputs) harness, amp cabling and the OEM speaker connectors for a 100% PnP install. Please use PM for details.

All this should be less than $1200 if you look for deals.

Hey technic, you think you can help me understand my case better. I have an e93 with base stereo as well and I’m trying to upgrade, so I wanted to add a matchup7 plug and play amp. But I can’t find the harness anywhere, and I also don’t understand I thought it will be plug and play for the subs to get powered from channel 5&6 as well. Thanks.
