Interesting arrangement; did you fab the coolant relo brackets, or did they come as some sort of kit?

The vaccum canisters - are they bolted straight to the inner fender?

The kit came with brackets but the only one that worked for me was the PS one. I made the ones in the pic just out of aluminum and rattle canned them.

The vacuum canisters are bolted to the firewall; one of them bolts right up to an existing nut and the other uses a really small bracket to the ground nut below it. There is a lot of heat right there which is my only concern for them but I dont think it will hurt them.

I would agree on the heat concern; however, Stett makes metal versions that may be better suited to the heat.

Maybe a heat shield, too?

So far, that's the cleanest vaccum canister relo I've seen, certainly gives me some ideas for placement.

Thanks dude, the blue vac lines were installed before the kit so it was more coincidence than anything.

Would you guys suggest this if my BOV doesn't seem to quite open like it should? I am getting some compressor surge that is really not making me happy on my new turbo.

Since install I have felt like the BOV doesn't open like it should.

So most people found 1/4 NPT and 4mm hose to be the most effective?

I have an HKS BOV, and have noticed that it got quieter that past couple months.
But i will have inlet installed next month, and people said the sound is a lot louder with inlets.

Maybe this is something to look into after the inlet installed.

No, use a 1/8" male NPT to 1/4" hose barb fitting, and then 1/4" (~6mm) vacuum line.

Why is tapping them both into one line not recommended.?

The tial needs direct vac pressure. Without it, it may not respond quick enough, that's why others are also upgrading to a bigger line and orifice.

Jeff, so does this only applies to Tial BOV? Or HKS and other types also?

It seems to be only Tial and not all Tial users need to do this. Only ones who are experiencing issues.

I for one, run the stock location with a 4MM line without a hitch.

I am running a Raceport and I starting having this issue after I switched to hybrids and inlets. I don't that that the turbos have much to do with this but I think that the fluttering and noise is from the inlets but who knows. I am switching to a 6mm vacuum hose and I am going to tap my intake manifold and install a 1/4 barb.

If you recently put on inlets and have problems with your tial fluttering or other abnormalities then you likely need to open up that orifice. This was mentioned in one of the first inlet threads and the solution was to open up that vac line, for future reference.

On the verge of replacing turbos and going with inlets, thanks for that bit of info..! I was going to go DV but I miss my old HKS SSQ so I'm going to be going with a BOV setup and will definitely open up that vac line on the IM, seeing as it's solved many issues..

Jeff, did you have to do anything to the plastic stock nipple coming from the manifold to use a 4mm vac line to the BOV?

This picture shows a new hole created with a barbed fitting.

or

you can replace the stock nipple with the same barbed fitting.

No wrong answer, just depends on what you feel comfortable doing.

Some people wanted a designated hole for the tial and the stock nipple for other connections.

So this is pointless for those of us on turbosmart or HKS BOV's?
