Low Speed Accident, DSC codes
Last night in upstate New York I was involved in a low speed (35mi/hr in a 50mi/hr zone) accident caused by sliding out on a long patch of ice into a ditch and was towed out by a winch. The car gracefully slid down the slope. No damage to the body of the car, but my steering is about 10-15 degrees off center and I damaged the sidewall of the driver's tire which was replaced with a new one at a tire repair shop. I was able to drive back home 150 miles without any funny noises and the car at the incorrect angle of steering was able to drive straight.
Given the emergency, I will most likely go to a trusted BMW mechanic to evaluate my situation whether just the tie rods/control arms are bent, subframe is bent, or I damaged the strut towers. There may be a possible issue on the rear as well. Can anyone confirm if these DSC/DSX (4x4/traction control error) codes just related to the steering angle itself? VGSG 55c3: AWD Limp-Home control activated. No DSC specified nominal torque.
