A Hyper black or ferric gray 1 or ferric grey 2 would look nice as well

The reason the color was unpopular is that metallic beige colors were everywhere in late 80s -late 90s on base model cars like ford contours, Taurus, Chrysler minivans, etc. psychologically it was THE default color for boring/family.

Just as oxfordgrun was the default color for e36/e34/e32.
Or titansilber for e46/e39/e38/e53.

I have owned a few oddball E30's and E36's the one bronzit E36 325i I bought and flipped after just putting wheels on it ended up being a DC drug dealer.... The car ended up in the impound lot in DC and Capital Police came to visit me out at Dulles Airport. Thankfully I had a receipt showing I had sold it. I even got it back which was crazy. Ended up becoming a donor to make another M50b25NV E30 with a 2.8 crank. Miss the early 2000's when used cars were dirt cheap.

Got pulled over and given a ticket from a motopig for no front plate, despite having it clearly displayed in the front window with a frame and everything. The ignorant terrorist turdmonkey also wanted to give me a ticket for exhaust… I told him he had no grounds since he had no db meter to show a violation, no quantitative legal standard was broken, and it was DINAN, ergo approved by BMW but feel free to waste his time in court since I’d have it thrown out in seconds… He backed off on that one right quick.

Re front plates, I was trying to be nice because. A: they are ugly and B: I feel no need to help criminals oppress me, track me, or sell my info for profit.

So now I bought a tow hook plate bracket to comply legally for an entire 2 minutes to take a couple pictures for court, then I unscrewed and tossed the entire assembly in the hatch and won’t be showing a front plate at all ever again, instead of it being in the window and visible to LEO.
Mobil tax collection.

Yep. Went to court, showed the printed pictures, judge told me I had to have a Texas plate mounted on front of car, not a novelty plate. Gently pointed out it is a real Texas plate, just a personalized one.

“You are right, those are so expensive you don’t see a lot of them here, dismissed, pay $10 in court fees on your way out.”

Thank you for doing your part... I tell every one to go to court to overwhelm the system. They're counting on your not fighting it.

What pisses me off is they get paid either way.
You pay court fee if it is dismissed /you are found innocent, or they charge you a fine plus a court fee.
Either way they are getting paid.

To get this thread even further off track, here’s my f31 with all red US tails…
but now blinking in amber.

In effect, Sylvania Zevo 7506A (amber) LED bulbs will still flash amber behind the red lenses.
Thought someone with preLCI e91 might want to do the same.

This thing is bloody lovely! Do you or anyone else know a part number for that front bumper? Also is it an LCI bumper, as I notice you have an LCI bonnet and grills?
Cheers

Thanks! I was aiming for bloody lovely and am glad I got there

Being a total geek, here's a list of the different parts codes I found while looking for the bumper. It's a genuine BMW M Performance one, btw. Good spot - my car's a pre-LCI but I could only find an LCI bumper, so I had to then fit LCI grilles and a bonnet too. Anyway! Here are those part codes:

51192152214
Front bumper kit, pre LCI. No mention of headlight washer or PDC holes.

51192152215
Front bumper kit, LCI, with headlight washers, PDC, and apparently the Adaptive Cruise Control radar grille.

51192149525
Front bumper kit, LCI, US market with side markers/reflectors, headlight washer and PDC. That's the one on mine, btw.

Good luck with the search mate, and thanks again for the kind words!

Amazing! Thanks for that. Initial search of those part numbers makes me think I’m gonna have a hard time getting that bumper!!

They're nearly impossible to find - I want to say there's entire threads on here somewhere of people searching for them. I have a spare that got cracked when I got backed into but I have so far resisted selling - it's hard to get rid of knowing I'll never find another.

Thank you! I'm biased but I think they're one of the better looking OEM wheels for the E9X chassis, especially wagons. I want to say they're 19x8 front and 19x9 rear, unsure of exact offsets. I do know the X1 specific 225M rear wheels are 2mm different in offset, because the previous owner cracked one of these and bought an X1 replacement wheel - I have a 3mm spacer on on wheel and a 5mm spacer on the other to even it out.

Fair warning that they are prone to cracks.

Hey no worries! Best of luck with the search - like 89bimmer says, they're getting tricky to find now sadly.

Do you know what hitch are you have? I'm interested in a bike rack as well for my recently purchased 2011 328i

Curious how much higher could you have gone with that setup? I’m seeing lots of people running that low with B14s and are nearly at the highest setting and other with another inch higher they could’ve gone.

Been piecing this thing back together for the last 2 years, lots of personal life side quests that I have been struggling with.

I gotta find my build thread that I stopped updating . Lol

*EDIT* The attachment feature doesn't work as it should. It attached the photos in jumbo size. Fixed below.

Before, more damaged than what the eye can see

After, still not done...but it's decent now.

Where did you source the low profile roof rails?

Thanks!

I actually got it from the local pick a part. They had 2 2011+ E91’s. I have a extra pair at home, tried to see if anyone wanted to buy it. But no interest. I might just trash it.

Oh, I can definitely help you dispose of them! Wouldn't want to contribute to the landfill you know!

LMK if you want to get rid of them and how much... could theoretically swing by this weekend and take them off your hands!
