So I'm not worried about the looks.
It's a test mule. More interesting is the fact that one computer controls everything instead of different ECUs controlling braking, engine, steering, etc. This means that passing parameters from one function to another is on the order of 100-1000x faster since the parameter lives in memory and does not need multiple I/On operations. So DSC, braking, etc can be monitored and manipulated faster than anything BMW has now. I'm interested in the drivetrain. Not sure if I'll buy one. I have an i4 and don't see myself swapping it for a new EV in a couple of years.

If you’re just looking to show off with number vomit and screens, this car is for you. But this car and brand are not for the same clients it was 15 years ago. That’s ok if it’s for you, but it’s not for a lot of us here. I hope it and BMW fail though. Just being honest. |

Well, what do we have here? Another vehicle for a few guys to come in here and express their very strong negative opinions about it, only to change their minds and end up loving it a month after its release.
Lets see where this goes…🤣

Don’t have anything negative to say but everyone thinks this is going to be current M3 pricing. To manage expectations, the only other EV (production) that puts this kind of power/tq down is the Lucid Air Saphire which has 230k price tag.

Very normal reaction to seeing a test mule.

Say what you will about the styling but the way this thing changes direction and accelerates defies physics. This architecture has a ton of potential and I'm excited to see what it leads, even as a die-hard ICE supporter with 3x turbo I6 cars in my driveway.

It like the overall look of the exterior. The front view is fantastic. I have to believe they will be reworking the rear of the car. The taillights are just too high. The wheels will never see production, thank goodness.
I don’t like the space age interior. I was really hoping the wrap around screens down at the bottom of the windshield would replace the huge screen in the middle and we could have a more traditional looking dash. I wish we would take the Porsche approach with our interiors. |

Oh good, the grilles did finally eat the headlights. I wonder when that would happen.
Please do not keep that interior. Good lord. This is like if an old Prius and Tesla had a baby. |

I'm really intrigued to see how this is going to drive, it seems like BMW are exploring how new technologies can redefine a performance driving experience.
Saying that, I'm glad we can continue to support and develop parts for the older models. For me personally I'm not sure BMW will ever top the E92 M3 with a few choice modifications. This VDX may not be the flavour us more traditional petrolheads want, but for future generations it could keep that excitement of driving alive.
