DP Fix For N54
I've been looking for one all over the internet and so far have come up empty handed. Both VRSF and n54tuning.com have stopped selling them, apparently for legal reasons. I was also trying to find a simple schematic but no dice. I've found one blurry picture of the bare circuit board and it looks to be an RC low pass with potentiometer, but I'd like to be sure. So I'm asking for some help here. Can someone take a picture of their N54 dp fix with the black sheathing removed? Front and back please. Or if someone has already figured it out, a simple schematic. Thanks!

had this saved from the original thread on the old, now shut down forum. I've made several of these and a 650 ohm setting measured on the variable resistor worked well for my N54. I'll need it again in April as my car is due for inspection. I believe I have pics of the device from the thread and the one I made. I'll dig around and post when I can.

Why not get an MHD and just use the "fix" that comes with it? You'll need it to tune the DPs anyways, right?

I am trying to make one of these but I am confused as to why this version has 4 wires but the versions that were once sold have 5 wires? Does the wire with the resistor go on #23 only? If so male or female side of #23? I would be trying to install this into a jb4. Thank you in advance.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-d4...ew?usp=sharing This device only uses one input (#19 OR #20) = 4 wires. Other devices used Both inputs #19 AND #20 = 5 wires. |

resistors and diode were from ebay (post #5 describes parts for search), connectors from mouser electronics (link in post above). wire from hardware store. Does not have to plug into JB4 harness to work properly, the DME harness can be de-pinned the same as the JB4 harness. Will work with MHD - must be flashed to stock and OEM catted down pipes checked.

I tried building one just like the one shown in the Google Drive PDF, but for some reason, I couldn't get the correct ohm readings. I'm not sure what went wrong. Do you happen to have a photo of the bare wire setup or how you have yours wired? That would really help.

it's essentially a slightly neater version of the pic in post #4 above. I'll try to peel the shrink wrap off of one I've completed and take a pic. |

pics from two different variable resistors. the larger, volume type pot is much easier to control than the smaller pot. the pots have 3 'legs'. attach one wire to the center (back) and one wire to either of the two front legs. Test the resistors first. I had some variable resistors fail as new, couldn't be controlled and wildly jumpy resistance.

This is how I originally made mine. The green wires were going to connect to pin 23. Black was for 19&20 and white was the input for either 19 or 20. I tried to copy the diagram in post #4. I think I might re try and only do 4 wires this time like in post
