Best tire size to pair with style 157?

Hey folks, im dropping my style 338 for 157s mainly due to rotational weight saved at each corner. I ordered the wheels today and before they come in i need to decide on a good tire size to fit it, im planning on getting 4 michelin pilot sport 4 a/s for them and these will replace the shit sucking run flats. Right now my stoock tires are 225/45r 17, is there a tire that may be better, like slightly wider that can still fit my wheel and not rub or anything like that and possibly improve handling maybe? Any feedback would be godsend right about now, thanks in advance and the 157 wheels are 17"x8 size if it helps. Im in the process of learning suspension components right now and jumping over to tires is challenging.

There are lots of opinions out there on tire size vs. wheel width, but I would personally stick with a 225 on an 8"-wide wheel.

What tires did you end up putting on the style 157 forged rims?

Thanks. This is first I’ve heard of staggered tires on same size wheels.
