Another vibration thread!

Recently purchased a 2011 328i X-drive, 6MT with 90k on the clock. It has a slight vibration starting around 55mph that can only be felt through the seat. By the mid 70's it really can't be felt anymore, only heard. What's tripping me up is when I push and hold the clutch in, everything is smooth as silk. Shifting to neutral and letting the clutch out does not fix anything, the clutch has to be depressed. It is not RPM dependent it seems, only speed.

I've read a bunch of vibration posts here, but the pushing the clutch in fixing things has me not sure where to start (flywheel, clutch assembly maybe?). Thanks for any thoughts you may have.

My strange vibration at only certain speed/sometimes idle/silent after pressing clutch was caused by drive shaft center bearing falling apart.

All the symptoms felt like clutch/flywheel related.

Yeah I need to take a look at the CSB.

Drove the car some more yesterday- there’s a flapping, helicopter-like sound from the left front area on decel that goes away with the slightest bit of throttle. No noise when turning but I’m thinking it might be a front axle or the front driveshaft.

I replaced all of the front end parts: axles, control arms, ball joints, wheel bearings, struts. Some combination of that took care of it, my guess is the axles.

Wanted to add an update for anyone in the future experiencing the same.

After replacing all four axles, which helped significantly, there was still an annoying hum/whir/slight vibration beginning at 50 mph. It was a very muted sound, like a low rumble from a subwoofer. Anyway, I replaced the CSB (the culprit, as others suggested) on the driveshaft and both flex disc's and now it's finally smooth.

Hello, what CSB did you mount ?

I have the same problem but already replaced driveshaft FRONT and REAR guibo's and CSB with no results. In addition, I got a weird noise from the FEBI CSB...
