Overheating Issue - Water Pump?

Hello everyone - I just picked up a 2011 e92 335is a few days ago and am running into an overheating issue. I am able to monitor coolant temps with MHD and it averages about 210-220°F (98-104°C) but goes all the way up to 250°F (121°C) in traffic. In the latter scenario, it will go into limp mode - at which point, I have to turn the heater on and wait a bit in order to drive again.

I have run the water pump bleed test and the pump seemingly works. The current dash lights I am getting are for "check control" and low coolant despite the tank being filled. I am not getting any other codes. However, upon checking, the float stick is not visible when filled and is stuck at the bottom of the tank.

I am wondering if this sounds like a water pump/t-stat on its way out or the expansion tank sensor failure - or combination of both. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thank you.
