2009 E93 Seat Wiring for Sim Use
I have a 2009 BMW E93 passenger seat that I am going to use for a sim racing rig I am building. I don’t know what any of the wires do on the underside of the seat and I can’t find anyone online who knows what the color codes mean. I need to know what wires I can plug into a power supply that will make the motors work with the switches. Can anyone help me identify what each wire does? I have attached a photo of the wiring under the seat.

I just wired a junkyard Volvo S60 seat for power controls.
I got the official Volvo wiring diagrams for the year/model I took the seat from, scrolled until I found the seat connector pin-outs, and used that as a reference on what to wire. Obviously, the screenshot I'm attaching is for Volvo and NOT BMW, but it can give you an idea of what to look for. The wires highlighted in green were the ones I needed to power in order to make the power seat functions work. WARNING: Be EXTRA careful when providing power, because if you accidentally power the airbag (and/or related systems) you seat airbag can (and probably will) go off. |
