TCU 1.0 to TCU 1.5
Hi, recently my TCU has stopped working and I see that I can purchase a TCU 1.5 for slightly cheaper than a 1.0. Would there be any wiring I need to do to add the 1.5, or is it plug and play?

What do you need it for Bluetooth Phone maybe ?
I would look at a Mr12volt media adapter . You get Bluetooth phone , usb , bluetooth music , another aux in the one for the Pro Radio . Android and Carplay in the one for Idrive. You need to program out the SOS if you do the above and remove the TCU. Almost anything you get will require some programming . You can get the BMW modules dirt cheap on ebay. They may need to be programmed for your car. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1181654 Using a Mulf 2 Hi will get you OEM bluetooth phone and USB as described in the above link . BMW stopped supporting SOS almost 12 years ago the TCU's only support 2g which is long gone. They didn't use any version to the TCU for very long. Last edited by ctuna; 02-25-2026 at 08:46 PM.. |

Did you see the stuff you have to do to make it work in the link.
There are many conversion procedures here and on Ytube. No matter what you do you will need to program it to the car. https://www.google.com/search?q=TCU+...t=gws-wiz-serp |
