Simota CB2 intake for e90 330i
I just installed my Simota CB2 intake with heat shield and MFD scoops and took it for a spin.
I immediately noticed that the engine is more responsive. Also, I noticed that my shifting (6sp MT) became smoother and lighter. At around 3k rpm, the engine has that low deep tone (it's like having an exhaust and every time I'm about to pass by people in the street, they look back to see what's coming) and at high rpm it gives you that nice high tone. There isn't really much of a gain in performance, just the engine being more responsive (really, what intake will give you noticeable performance gain?). I took some vid clips and enjoyed the sound of the new intake (it actually sounds a lot better in person). I love my new intake so far.. The only downfall of having this new intake is that my MPG is lower.. and that's because I step on the gas everytime so I can hear that lovely sound of my intake! Otherwise, it should give you higher MPG if you take it easy on the gas Here is the link for the video:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hFvKGTirUDk Last edited by e9X; 05-06-2009 at 08:58 AM.. Hey, anyone know what the gain and sound of the CB2 is compared to the Injen Intake? I can't really tell from the clips. Am REALLY struggling between the two.

I have cb2 too.
I love the sound, but I don't know if I got any performance gain or maybe loss? I just don't know... for now, I'm kinda used to the sound....but I'm sure the sound still there, it's just my ears... anyone with cb2 willing to do a dyno? that'd be sweet. |
