when is the first maintenance service for your car?
My dealer told me that either I reach 24,000km or 12 months, it is time to have the first maintenance service. and it is up to me to get the oil change once or twice a year. Is that what you had been told?

It's every 15k miles (so 24k km) or 12 months, whichever comes first. Unless your car's onboard computer tells you to get it done earlier.
Either way... if you own the car (or just want to be considerate for the future owner), get it done before that. You're driving a $35k+ car, spend $100 a year on an oil change.
