e9x xi Slammed!

Planning on getting new coil overs for my car in a few months. I have D2 coil overs on right now, but I'm pretty sure these were made for the "i" version because they are lowered all the way, and my front still has a 2 finger wheel gap. Not to mention they ride horrible. I've been looking at KW V1 and they seem to please a lot of people. I want to go real low and slam my car for a nice stance.

Any recommendations or pictures of e9X xi slammed??

The first picture is on stock suspension, the next 2 I put in the D2 coil overs. The car looks low in the last picture because of the sunlight but I have a 2 finger gap in the front, and a little wheel gap in the rear.

the only way to really "slam" a xi is airride. KW's wont get you much lower than you already are.

You hush! KWs do a fantastic job!

If you want tucked wheels, well then you are right, but i think the perfect height is zero wheel gap and zero tuckage.

Heres a quick pic, i have closer ones if you want em

actaully heres a better profile pic

That looks good, is the front all the way lowered or do you have more threads? Post some more pics if you can.

Damn that looks real good! Did you lower the front coils all the way on the threads?

Front coils only have 2 collars left. Rear can go down plenty . Still waiting patiently for some company to make another coil setup with adjustable pre load and height.

Your car looks amazing BTW!

Thanks, the great thing is the only mod I have done is lower the car!! (and black grills). Its all stock, but wow does it makes a difference, especially on our 3" wheel gap XI's

I'd have to recheck the front... i think its sitting 5-7 threads from lowest, and the rear is 1 thread from lowest. I have spacers to bring the wheels flush with the body, and that does cause clearance issues (12mm front, 15mm rear). But without spacers there is plenty of room.

Damn thats a perfect drop. What's your wheel/tire set up? I have 19x9 225/35 front and 19x10 235/35 rear. And did you mess around with the bumpstops at all or left the coils the way you got them?

Love the drop, looks perfect for what I was planning on doing. When you cut your bumpstops did it make the ride harsher? Why did you cut your bumpstops, to go lower?

I never rode on them with it being the original size. I cut it because I wanted a little more shock travel. If I didn't cut it, I'm pretty sure it would just be sitting on the bumpstops at the height I'm at. It rides great honestly. Big bumps are a scare sometimes. But I daily it everyday and no complaints. Best thing I did to this car.

I actually like your stance. Suggest you push out the rims a little more with some spacers and I bet you will like the look!

Yo. Not to be nosey or whatever but just a heads up on your tire sizes if you're rolling in an XI.

The rolling diameter needs to be pretty close to even...less than 1% I have read. If you're running 225 front and 235 rear with 35 you may be outside the appropriate rolling diameter the xdrive/xi tranny/tcase/differential can handle.

Just a friendly heads up. I may be wrong about the % difference between our front and back tires.

Worth checking into.

I've run a staggered set up on my e90 xi for 132,000 miles. I've also changed out my transfer case oil with ATF like 40,000 miles ago....others said my TC would blow up. My front differential was leaking a lot of oil and it still functions and handles 475 bph. Great cars!
