No more parts warranty?

Hey everyone!

So I am patiently waiting for my F10 to come back from the dealer with a new engine, and according to my SA BMW stopped backing their parts with a 2 year unlimited mile warranty? Can anyone confirm? I've been seeing other threads where people are getting new motors/parts with the 2 year warranty and I want to make sure I'm getting the right information.

Doesn't it depend on whether there is a warranty in place? I know over here in the UK, say you have a new part towards the end of the 3-year manufacturer's warranty, (say at 30-months), then the new part is only warranted to the end of the warranty period. Or for the outstanding 6-months. If under the extended (insured) warranty, then as long as that is in force the part will be warranted.

Again for the UK, if you pay for the part, or part of the costs, (T&Cs) then the 2-years will/may apply.

I assume there's small print for the conditions of your particular replacement.

This would eliminate the need to buy any parts from a dealer for vehicles outside of factory warranty. If accurate, it's not exactly the smartest move by BMW. I'll just add this to my list of reasons why I won't be buying another BMW in the foreseeable future.

Exactly why I'm going for a GT-R versus an M3/M4/M5/M6. I really wanted one of the newer ///M cars but all 4 BMWs I've owned had issues, and each time they had an issue I was always given some sort of lip from my local dealer. I guess they hate it when young guys like myself are driving these kinds of cars.

Many dealers don't treat older BMW owners any better...now that my free maintenance is over I will find a new indy for any work to be done!

Get BMW Parts says there's still a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty. Unless they haven't updated their site, I'd think they still have the warranty in place.

https://www.getbmwparts.com/faq/inde...ategoryID=1149

BMW Canada says the 2 year unlimited too:

https://www.bmw.ca/en/topics/owners/...new-parts.html

Can't find any info on BMWUSA..... But I highly doubt it has changed.
