Food Poisoning

Had a Poke Bowl before I got on a plane back up to Seattle. By the time I got to my hotel all hell broke loose. Puking my guts out until nothing left. Miserable. Didn't sleep a wink. Be careful with raw fish.

The last time I similar symptoms, ended up in ER. Suspected the soup wife made. ~2 hours between soup and initial onset of symptoms.

To save the marriage, Dr. did a culture and I came back positive for influenza.

I got food poisoning almost as soon as I arrived on campus my freshman year of college (in 1986...). Avoided seeing a doctor and it got worse. Couldn’t even keep down a sip of water and eventually had no choice but to go to ER. Ended up with ulcer. Spent 10 days in the hospital, during which I lost 35 lbs. (all of which I later got back and sadly still have). Not something to fuck around with or try to ignore. Feel better OP!

My sister's boyfriend got food poisoning on their flight to Italy last month. Struggled with it the week they were there and for another week once they got home and he eventually had to get taken to the hospital. He was so dehydrated and all of his electrolytes, etc were so out of whack that his kidneys were starting to shut down. He spent about a week in the hospital while they treated everything.

Food poisoning is definitely no joke! It can get really bad, really quick if you're not careful.

Anthony Bourdain, who once ate an unwashed warthog anus because a Namibian tribal chief considered it a great honor to offer it, always warns to stay clear of airport food for just this reason.

I like his warning to stay clear of buffets at Western style hotels in less developed countries. The local street vendors know they will lose customers if their food makes people sick, but by the time the three day old Bolognese sauce from the buffet catches up, you'll be long gone.
