Regarding Carplay not working I did this in my g30 5 series the other day:
“ Well my gf just told me she hold volume knob for 30s which resulted in system reboot (not factory reset). After that she just reconfigured her phone and it works fine

Lol she is smarter than I thought Thanks for help guys”

A post from 2022.

I recently updated my iPhone 15 Pro Max to iOS 17.0.3. I got in the car (2024 X5 50e) for a two hour car trip and used the wireless charging mat. When I got out of the car, I had the dreaded message on my phone. Ugh.

Have any of you experienced this on an iX charging tray? No one has really said anything on the iX forum. It appears that many of you aren’t putting your vehicle model in your replies, so it’s hard to tell. Thanks.

24 M440i, GalaxyS22 Ultra.

I just had the phone shut down due to a "thermal issue" after about 90 minutes of driving. I pulled the phone off the charger and it was baking hot.

I have not been able to determine if the heat impacted the battery but if it did, I will post it here.

So, the current wireless charging bad has been superseded for new car production starting 30th October, when a new part becomes available.

Might be a coincidence of course, but interesting none the less

Why in God's name would I want to boost LTE (4G)?
All of our phones (since 2020) support 5G.

Our other car has built-in LTE (like some BMW's ConnectedDrive) but the boosted signal strength appears to compensate for terrible speed (under 15Mbps).

Most deployed 5G networks around the world require an LTE anchor for now.

Curious where you saw this. Maybe too early to say, but will be nice if a new back can be retrofitted into existing cars.

What is this LTE booster that you speak of? What does it do and where is it located?

Is it a passive antenna repeater or an actual booster like a pico cell? (I can't imagine it is the latter)

I can tell you that a simple unidirectional (out to in) antenna booster is a bad idea, it boosts the signal from the tower, when it may be marginal, and causes the phone to transmit at max power since it is at the edge of coverage to maintain a connection. Sometimes it's best to drop when you are in car in a marginal connection area.

Looks like the update didn’t fix anything. Stay away from the charging pad!

Those results are wrong.

The update was never to stop the phones getting hot ( they will always get hot unless apple clock down the CPU’s ), they were to stop the bad apps ( instagram etc ) causing a worse power failure that this test doesn’t show up.

This is also completely unrelated to the wireless charger issue , which apple/bmw are currently in active conversation about ( confirmed by BMW )

Maybe it is me but I have never used the wireless charger in any of my BMWs. So I have had zero problems with my iPhone 15.

Almost makes me want to pull the fuse on this wireless charger.

Anyone know if that’s possible?

You can just unplug it underneath the pad. 3 small torx screws and you done in about 2 mins

BMW should just come out with a MagSafe charger for iPhone owners, and everyone else can deal with this crappy Qi charging standard garbage.

Have a Android Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and gets so hot can barely touch.

BMW bad design and should have airflow.

Pad cooling.
Vent grooves
Something.

But unlike Apple didn't blow up.
