C'est nul. Déterminez où vous voulez le remorquer avant d'appeler. Priez pour un meilleur que le pire vendeur de nouvelles. Désolé d'entendre ça.

Ils me remorquent chez le concessionnaire, puis ils me laissent coincé.
Belle BMW !
Roulements à lancer ?
Putain ça craint, mais allez BUCS
Throwout bearing or maybe the syncros?
how many miles on your car? do you track it? does the car see hard driving?
is the clutch pedal down to the floor?

Mike-Do you think its the slave cylinder?
I hope that you are home by now. I guess it will be tomorrow before any news. Good luck.

Got home around 3:30am. They had difficulty finding a tow service.
Clutch has normal travel and feel.
Always made that normal throwout bearing noise typical of 6mt and maybe once a month or so it would be difficult to get into 1st but no more than an extra second or two.
I'm thinking a linkage... Couldn't be more vague but never any transmission problems (just previous engine dislike towards valve springs).
17,000 miles.
Was just in for routine oil change 2 days prior.
I'll post what they find Monday morning... See who guessed correctly.

about to say same thing. If pedal pressure is still good I would rule out slave, (but the pedal is spring assisted so who knows). I would guess linkage as well; does the shifter move freely??
I'm guessing a linkage issue. If synchros were gone this would have been a gradual wear, ie grinding over time. Same with throw out and even then, should still go into gear when car is not running. Good luck and let us know what they say.
Were you able to get it in gear with the car off? Had this same problem on a previous vehicle with it completely unable to shift into any gear (but clutch was fine, and gears would shift when the car was off) and it was the slave cylinder. A week at the dealer and a new clutch assembly later, it was fine!

Keep us posted.

+1, This is a good point. I remember back in the day I had an issue with my Supercharged 330 and had to turn the car off temporially to switch gears... :mad0260:

Yes, while driving...

This was only for a couple of days.. I would start out in second and rev pretty high, and then turn the car off, shift to fourth, and turn it back on.

As long as it was a freeway drive it was no problem!
Update us and let us know what the issue was!!!!
Of course after sitting for a day it worked fine Monday morning.
Here's the video I shot so they would know it really happened:
Just got it back. They changed the transmission fluid. Everything was working fine and they couldn't duplicate the symptoms so fluid change was the treatment. seems to shift fine right now.
Don't you just LOVE that...oh well. Hope it doesn't happen again.
