2019-1 Map Update for CIC cars

Took her for a nighttime cruise along Ocean Parkway. 68 degrees, windows down, sunroof open, cool breeze coming off the ocean. Life is good sometimes.

I bought a Challenge rear section off of a forum member (thanks, M3R1) and installed it yesterday. Sounds like a totally different car versus the MPE I had on it before. Perfect fit with the OG Challenge Race x pipe too.

Washed it and did my usual Bead Maker treatment then took a cruise to Costco to fill up with gas today.

I changed the fuel tank breather valve and put in new spark plugs. It took 3 hours, but I am a novice. I found it to be pretty straight forward using the diy... https://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1273927

I used the "wire pull method" for the spark plugs, and it really went pretty quickly. Cylinders 4 and 8 were tight, but doable. Removing the fuel tank breather valve was definitely a pain in the ass.

Then I went for a drive.

My idle is definitely smoother, and pulling all the way to redline still puts a smile on my face.

Washed it - then it rained.

Stopped raining so I waxed it - then it rained again...

But I will need to go out and buy fuel (surprised?) later so hope the rain screws off soonish...

And the rain may have gone away for a bit.

Tried out swissvax for the first time.

Not insanely impressed, but it's not bad.

Cleaning interior is definetly not as enjoyable as washing the exterior of my car. Had to use loads of elbow grease...

Have you been using rebuilt TAs as your replacements?

No I should have clarified this is my first from Mpower motorsports. Last time I did them was about 4 years ago so before rebuilding was even an option.

Foam washed and softened Öhlins to 14 clicks out from 10 clicks out. Should be able to further monitor rear rub with the softer setting. Also removed the mold release nibs from all 4 tires. Now I won’t know how close to the curb I am.

Very happy with the cheap Amazon foam lance.

I found my car's speed today. Making the run from DC to Norfolk down I-95, traffic finally cleared and I found a comfortable speed and set the cruise control; and there it was. The car settled in and everything fell into that state of harmonic resonance. The engine was purring, barely putting forth any effort. The suspension seemed to glide over the pavement merely undulating over rises and valleys in the road. The car tracking into curves in the road with barely a urge of the steering wheel. The noise seemed to quiet a few decibels. Windows down with some Zeppelin playing on iPod, I managed to glide for at least 8 miles without touching the brakes seeing the holes in traffic appear as if they were in harmony with the car.

Then the whole illusion was shattered by those God forsaken Northern Virginia drivers
