Ok - so second set of photos uploaded


things I did - new front grills - I think they are called black chrome - had the matte black ones on my M5 - I think I like this look better

rear fog enabled - very easy mod - probable will come in useful at some time

I spent $$$ trying to really reduce the feeling of understeer on my 2006 M5 - Dinan components - this seems spot on right out of the box

The M Performance exhaust is awesome - I had the Dinan one on the M5 - I thought that was expensive - lol - this is more -but - a very tasteful setup

I will agree - the cans in the back would look better powder coated black

I just love the DCT - I def got used to the SMG in the M5 - and grew to really appreciate it - this is just so much better on every level

BMW Apps -not much time to play around with it - my dealer has the iPhone media cradle on order -

Def love the new iDrive - yes - I am aware it is weak compared to my sisters in her Toyota minivan - but to me - it is GREAT - especially coming from my 06.

1 complaint - I had purchased a lifetime sub - for Sirius/XM - on the M5 - when I called to activate this - I was told - that the sub could NOT be transferred - unless I had purchased an aftermarket radio - and then it could be done 3x - WTF

Oh well - if thats as bad as it gets - I'll take it

Some things I miss about the M5 - it was a bit more plush inside. I liked the headliner in alcantara

But - I realize you cannot have a 3 compete with a 5, or a 5 compare with a 7 - I get that

I picked it up on Thursday - only 68 miles on it so far

Oh - funny story - so I have them - my dealer - hardwire my V1 -

as I'm driving home - I open the sunroof - LOL - the V1 turns off

I text my SA - she says - "seriously, whoops" - Not a biggie - they will fix it next time I bring it by.

Various thoughts - The carbon splitters & spoiler - just look awesome - IMHO

I think they could have been included, along with the exhaust as part of a more comprehensive performance package - I realize it would have been a bit more scratch - but I think it all comes together beautifully!


Would be happy to answer any questions - about how I think this compares to my previous M3's, my M5's, or my lone Merc e55.


Every option - except extended leather - in hind sight - should have gotten it - not sure what I was thinking

They were fabulous to deal with - order was a piece of cake. Spoiler arrived at my office within a few days.

Yeah - really loved the M5 - but mine had 49k miles on it - and it was becoming a maint time vampire

For each permitted transfer, you will be charged a transfer fee. No transfer fee is charged for the transfer of a Lifetime subscription associated with an automotive receiver if it was defective.

However..you could just cite one of the acceptable reasons above and they would transfer it...

I can screw up most DIY projects - but even I could do this one. It is listed under the DIY section of the forum.

It is really something. All the electronics are in place, the bulbs, even the dash light! The only thing preventing it from working is 4 small little plastic pegs!

I really give credit to whomever figured this one out.

I totally agree with you. I personally love the tips - I know they will undergo some heat coloring with time. I had the Dinan exhaust on my M5 - I thought that sounded great - but there is something special about it being an OEM part - I think. The sound is just incredible, I do wish the cans were a different color. I think the exhaust tips are a nice diameter, & I think it will draw the correct type of attention. I was pulled over once or twice by the police, due to things like no front plate (never had it never will), exhaust (Dinan). I don't think this exhaust will draw law enforcement attention - lol I think.

I know there are a LOT of great companies that offer numerous really nice exhaust units. This is not the cheapest route to go.

But, for me I have ZERO regrets. BMW will never give me any warranty issues, the fit & finish is what one would expect, and I think the sound is SPOT ON!
