So many of you have bought the different colors of Apex Track wheels. I think it'd be nice to get one thread dedicated to all the different set up you guys are running. Im still curious to see if I should pull the trigger on these wheels.

Basically Im asking you to...

Please Post pictures, color, size, and tire size of your Apex Track wheels.

Thanks!

Details on the setups here...

...the track bug getting to you? :bellyroll

The most common setup I've seen is 18x10 w/ 275/35R18s at all 4 corners. Or 18x9.5/18x10.5 with 265/35R19 and 285/35R18. I would stick with the 18x10 square setup if want to use these for the track. When you eventually move up to R-Comps, 275/35R18's are easy to find. There's a good selection and JPJP usually stocks scrubs in this size.

Hopefully I'll get tires for my set of anthracite 18x10s soon! BTW, not sure if you noticed, I had the 17x9 ARC8s on my E46 at TWS.
No, no bug bit me.... Ive been whining about grip for a long time. And since PS2s are great daily tires... why change them. Best bet is to have a set of track dedicated wheel and tire.

Anyone running 18x10f and 18x10.5r? maybe a 275/35/18f and 295/35/18r?

:bellyroll The bug seems to have bitten disapr...

I've done a lot of research on wheel/tire combo's...months of thinking about my setup. What I've found is if you do go with R-Comps eventually, I don't think you'll find many 295/35R18 options.

The issue you may run into with the 10.5" and 295 rear is if you run R-Comps or some extreme performance summer tires...might rub.

I would like to get some more rear end grip with a wider rear tire but you run into limitations if you step up to R-Comps.

I like the ability to rotate my tires on my E46, you get a lot more life out of them. On the E9X, I've seen most tracked cars with a lot of wear on the outer edges of the front tires. So I think a square setup will drastically cut down on tire costs.

If you plan to run street tires for a long time...then I think 275/295 is what Paintpro recommends. I think those are the tire widths that Dinan runs on their 19" setup.

I've ended up deciding to use my ARC8s on the street and 4 rear OEM 18" wheels for the track. Both setups with 275/35R18s. Whenever Apex comes out with a new wheel and if I like it, I will swap out the OEM 18s.

Maybe.. :D

I went 9.5/10.5 with 295's in the back mainly due to the supercharger.

For N/A I vote for 18x10 square 275's
4Sevens, thanks so much for posting.

BigJae, disapr does have his motivating words. But Im had a mod bug since I could remember. He just throws fuel on that fire haha.

disapr, I dont know. I would still like to at least do 18x10f with 275/35 and 18x10.5 with 285/35 to keep a bit more rear traction. But 275/35 isnt bad. Just trying to figure out max traction for the set up.

Itd be nice if others posted pictures and set ups too.
I think most stick with Apex's recommended setups which shouldn't be much different with other brands of wheels as well.

yes wheels feel awesome on track.

the jl motoring gts cf lip
awesome! I love it when Mods move a post for no dumb reason especially considering I wanted to SEE ( cough cough, gallery ) wheels on the track. Now less people will see this thread.
you probably saw this:

I like these wheels but I have to say that I bent one putting it slightly off track in a manner in which I like to think a really strong wheel would not have gotten bent. it was repairable and I still think they are good value for money, but....

still running 18x10 but 265 front 295 rears. you can still rotate the car with this setup.
I'll have my pics up in spring. :)
I bought a set from Pakman so I'll have my own pictures up after the 11th of December. The set up I bought is an 18x10f and 18x10.5r with 275f and 285r. I can't wait to try out some more grip. I'm sure it won't be an insane difference but enough to make it count.
hey i know that black car :)

here are a few more.

Congratulations on the new setup :)

Just took delivery of my 18x9.5 and 18x10.5 Apex wheels today.
I love the no nonsense mild concave design with the straight spokes! Not too much, not too little...but just right! No stepped, deep dish, track spec, and 100 piece with gold fastener silliness.

Love the color  I got satin black wheels too.

Thats Awesome Daniel, Cant wait for next weekend! It'll be intense!
These wheels are quite popular. I saw a 1M and a E90 M3 this weekend in Cresson with the ARC8s.
they are great rims. look even better with studs instead of the silly bolts. i did put a coat of wax on them, it makes wiping them down much easier. odds are i added a hint of sheen, but the brake dust and tire marbles cover it just fine.
