Good Day,

Just joined the forum and been going through the threads.
Have come across a thread where members were rating/commenting on various dealership based on their purchase experience. These were mainly for dealerships in North America.



Unless I am mistaken, such a thread does not exist for dealerships in Australia.

There is not much of a choice in Australia. Most often when you purchase a car from a dealer you automatically affiliate with that dealer. Western Australia had one dealer until a couple of years ago, before the second dealership opened but both owned by one dealer person.

I am sure members from eastern states can chime in given they have multiple dealership. Both our WA dealers are good but members here have varied experienced.

In South East Queensland I've had a good experience with Motorline BMW in Springwood. They have their own body shop which is really good, they are happy to fit balance and align tyres from the Tire Rack for $150 fitted balanced and aligned. Spare parts are too expensive, service is really quite good but every expensive, they are extremely helpful and overall really good,
Service advisers Matt, Simon or Janet are all great, good workshop at typical BMW rates. Great sales staff, they are all into performance and racing

If your car is not in warranty you can't go past Mike Weber at Brisbane Prestige and Performance in Coorparoo. Ex BMW and first class service, knowledge and performance enhancements

He also specialises in Audi and VW.

I hate all dealerships, especially brisbane in the valley. Wouldn't trust them with my car ever. And spare parts are a rip off nationwide.

Over 3 times more expensive than US prices, e.g.
USD 15 -> AUD 52
USD 205 -> AUD 640
There is also shipping but if you're buying a fair amount of parts then it is negligible, depending on size.

Even with shipping it's a lot cheaper. I bought two sets of spark plugs (16) and including shipping to Australia cost me A$173. One spark plug here cost $35. Bloody absurd and rip off.
