I’m trying to diagnose a very intermittent throttle actuator related issue. A couple of months back I got code 27A1 HERE. Not much info on here, but on the M5 forums they seemed to indicate that it is the bank 1 throttle position sensor. Drove around today without a problem, parked the car to run into the store, come back and it goes into limp mode again. This time it threw 2B21 HERE.

Ran the throttle actuator test in INPA and it says "vollstaendig lauftdurchlaufen und fehler erkannt" or "completely runs through and detected errors" which doesn’t tell me shit other than there is a problem. So how do I determine if the problem is in the actuator or the throttle position sensor?

Next, assuming I replace this actuator how do I reinitialize it using INPA or EDIABS? Thanks!

That's a classic case of a failed actuator. You need s new unit on bank 1.

No need to re initialise. Just plug and play.
Thanks.

I ordered a new one up and took the old one out. Waiting for the new one to arrive.

Before I took the old one out I ran the throttle actuator diagnostic with the intake manifold off and bank 1 didn't even wiggle, while the bank 2 did it's sweep tests.

I took the old one apart and nothing was visually wrong, other than the usual dust from the plastic gears. So I assume the problem is electrical.
My tá are opening normally but I have 27a1. I replaced both but the problem persists, any idea ?

Thankyou
