That's a steal for a 50k mile e90

Agree with all the above. Thats is a good price and low miles.

I paid roughly $28k for my 08 E90X with 78k miles just a couple months ago. Very limited availability of E90s in the Vegas market so I had paid a premium for sure. Got the bearings swapped myself for another <$2k. Do that early on and you'll be relieved. My stock bearings were straight up awful. The stress of not knowing when yours will auto-nuke itself is not fun.

What shops in the SF Bay Area are good for bearing changes? My local BMW independent hasn't done any M3 changes I don't want to be their test case.

Got BOTH of mine replaced a few weeks ago. BMW NA balked at first because I bought it from Illinois, but then I showed them the verbiage in their own warranty manual (Google it) that I'm sure they are perfectly familiar with... 15 minutes later they were covered.

I have had my 08 for 2 years now, the problem I have experienced was the window regulator. I have 71k on it.

Im at 51500~ on my 2008. I am on pins and needles driving it around 1500 miles past its life expectancy.

I called all the shops in san francisco and it seems nobody ever done the bearings on a m3 before. I find this strange since there is probably a e9x m3 on every block here.

Performance Technic in Dublin can assist you, one of the more reputable non stealer places. A drive from SF, but they are enthusiasts.

Not that surprising - most E9x owners are not doing rod bearing replacements. Reading this forum makes it seem otherwise at times.

Many of the top indy shops in the Seattle area haven't done them either - I know, I called a few of them. Furthermore, some of them think the issue is overblown/non-existent and sort of scoffed at the notion of replacing them.

Just giving a personal opinion to OP on what i would do. Most people i know changed their bearings at the 50k mark for peace of mind.
